Hull City vs Watford Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Hull City have the biggest say in the relegation battle as their own safety lies in their hands. Win here and they could move five points clear, which would probably be enough to plunge Swansea into the Championship. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game: Hull City vs Watford
Venue: KCOM Stadium
Kick-off: Saturday 22nd April, 3PM
A win here for Hull and we can prossibly wave goodbye to everyone in the relegation zone including Swansea. Where did it all go wrong for the Swans? Well, as potential promotion bound Leeds fans will tell you, perhaps they should have kept Garry Monk. Their rise up the leagues playing the most beautiful football was something to watch and being that they were obviously a Welsh club in the English Premier League added to the achievement.
Part of me would be very sad to see Swansea take the drop but it seems like it’s going to be only a matter of time. This Hull side under Marco Silva have been absolutely fantastic at home. They’ve won six and drawn two of their last eight. That’s no mean feat having hosted Liverpool, United, Everton and three fellow relegations threatened sides in that time.
Watford have had an absolutely incredible season. They’re only 10th, but when you consider their resources, their slightly smaller, old-fashioned surroundings, on paper they appear to have punched above their weight but on the field they’ve gotten what they deserved. Watford are a real threat to a Europa League place if they keep building like this, and this is a tough game for Hull.
Hull are 10/11 with Bet365 to claim all three points here and that’s quite a nice price given their form. But Watford are no mugs. The draw can be backed at 12/5 whilst the visitors hold value of their own at 3/1 with Bet365.
Watford have kept on sneaking up the table slowly but surely all season long by picking up points at home. They’ve not been the best side away from home, although they did manage a 2-1 win at Arsenal. Given how things developed for Arsenal from there onwards that win perhaps doesn’t belong in the same impressive context as it usually would.
Hull have been more consistent than anyone over the past month or so. The fact that they’ve brushed aside the likes of Liverpool and United just as easily as they have fellow relegation battlers shows they’ve really found their groove under Silva and that they are a very good side.
Back our Free Betting Tip: Hull to win at 10/11 with Bet365.
Goals have been harder to come by for Watford away than they have at home and their cause hasn’t been helped by the fact that they generally concede twice. Hull have kept two clean sheets in nine but also generally give goals away.
Back our Score Prediction: a 3-1 Hull win at odds of 16/1 with Bet365.
Hull have a couple of really in-form performers like Ranocchia and Niasse. Niasse has been contributing consistently where it’s scoring or assisting.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Oumar Niasse to score at odds of 13/8 with Bet365.
