Norwich City vs Preston North End Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Norwich have more than found their feet after relegation They’ve won their last eight games and nine of 10. Preston are unbeaten in five themselves and
took apart Huddersfield midweek. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game:Norwich City vs Preston North End
Kick-off:Saturday 22nd October, 3pm
You would perhaps expect this to be a fantastic game. Norwich have blown away everyone at home with the exception of a 1-0 win at the start of the campaign. Preston took some time to find their feet, but they’ve emerged as a good footballing side under Simon Grayson and they haven’t lost in five games.
Preston put a big dent in Huddersfield Town’s early season form with a 3-1 midweek win at home. They’ll find this game a lot harder you’d imagine, but they’re playing with a confidence that should mean if nothing else they certainly won’t fear the Canaries.
Norwich have scored 17 times in their last five home games and they’ve won all six games here this season. But they’ve also allowed each of the visiting teams to score, including Cardiff City who scored twice. If Preston can get on the score sheet and then grind it out, a result isn’t beyond them.
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Norwich are short odds at 3/5 with Sky Bet, but that perhaps is only a reflection of their own form and not Preston’s. The draw can be backed at 16/5 with Paddy Power whilst Preston are available at 5/1 with Ladbrokes.
It’s probably easier said than done to score a goal or two against Norwich and then hold out for a result. Preston may be better suited focusing on their style and attacking the hosts, but whom are quite adept on the counter attack. Once the deadlock has been broken, Norwich have stayed in front. Burton drew level for a matter of seconds before the lead was restored.
Norwich tend to take their foot off of the gas and try to manage the game once they go a couple of goals clue, which is when we’ve seen the opposition sneak in. Bristol City were beaten 1-0 but didn’t really get a sniff as Norwich stayed switched on for the full 90, but I’d expect a much more open game here.Back Both Teams to Score at 5/6 with Sky Bet.
Make no mistake City are getting by due to their supreme attacking ability. They’ve allowed 15 goals in their last 10 Championship games, including three against Birmingham and Newcastle. Preston have scored more than once in their last four games, but Norwich are so deadly we have to assume they’ll find a way to edge this. Back a 3-2 Norwich win at odds of 28/1 with Stan James. It’s been a team effort for Norwich. Jacob and Josh Murphy have been getting in on the goals from wide areas, whilst Howson, Dorrans, Hoolahan and Naismith all have two or more. Big Cameron Jerome has lead the way though scoring six goals. Three of those have come in his last five games.Back Cameron Jerome to score at odds of 6/4 with Stan James.
