Crystal Palace vs Leicester City Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Both of these sides have responded emphatically to management changes, even if Palace did take their time. Both sides have won five of six domestically and have nothing to fear in this game. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game: Crystal Palace vs Leicester City
Venue: Selhurst Park
Kick-off: Saturday 15th April, 3pm
Neither of these sides are technically safe from relegation, but Leicester could not take another point and still survive you feel. It might take just one more win to settle the Palace nerves as they’ve six points clear of the drop, but games are fast running out for Swansea. Middlesbrough and Sunderland seem doomed at this point.
If we consider all competitions then these teams have won 11 of their last 13 games combined, knocking off Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Sevilla between them. It’s not a bad accomplishment for two sides that appeared to be hopelessly heading towards relegation just a few short weeks ago.
Craig Shakespeare and Leicester have proved the decision to relieve Ranieri as the right one whilst Big Sam has done exactly what we expected him to do even if it did take a bit of patience. Palace do have the greater need here whilst Leicester have a tough Champions League tie midweek and these are things to consider.
And Palace’s greater need is reflected in the odds. They’re odds on to beat Leicester at 17/20 with Bet365. The draw can be backed 5/2 with Bet365 and the Leicester win is 16/5. The Foxes have won their last three meetings with Palace.
You can make a fair case for either side to win here and despite Palace’s greater need for Premier League points the pressure has all been lifted off of Leicester and they seem to be getting better and better right now. They’ve got nothing to fear here and that makes them quite a dangerous proposition.
Although despite their fantastic form overall, you may be forgiven for overlooking the fact Leicester’s run has been built on wins at home. They’ve won their last six at the King Power but have lost five of their last six away including an FA Cup tie with Millwall.
Back our Free Betting Tip: Crystal Palace to win at 17/20 with Bet365.
Regardless of the result for Leicester goals have been a feature. Palace have seen tighter games, but they’re becoming more of an attacking threat themselves and their last three home games have featured three or more goals. There’s no reason why this needs to be a cagey game.
Back our Score Prediction: 3-2 Palace win at odds of 33/1 with Bet365.
We fully expect both sides to get amongst the goals here and it’s worth noting that Palace’s top scorer, Christian Benteke, hasn’t scored a league goal here since December 3rd. Palace have had no stand out scorer but Leicester's Jamie Vardy looks back to near his best. He’s scored six goals in seven and assisted some along the way.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Jamie Vardy to make Leicester’s contribution to this game at 2/1 with Bet365.
