Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

The game turned on its head after a dominant Bayern first half in Munich last week and the red card to Javi Martinez did little to help matters. Real scored a late winner and hold the advantage here. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.

Game: Real Madrid vs Bayern MunichVenue: Bernabeu StadiumKick-off: Tuesday 18th April, 7.45PM

Bayern Munich were fantastic in the first half of their first leg with Real Madrid. The German side took a 1-0 lead through Arturo Vidal who should have at least doubled that lead with a horrendous penalty miss and a similar chance to the one he had earlier taken. Those misses proved costly as Real Madrid would turn the game around.

Madrid were much better value for the draw it looked like they had snatched in the second half and Ancelotti’s men finished the side on top after Bayern’s Javi Martinez was sent off. Even with 10 men though Bayern were an attacking threat and caused Real some problems.

It’s going to be hard travelling to Madrid given that deficit and the two away goals that were scored against them but we know on their day Bayern can beat anyone and if this game stays 11 v 11 then the Germans are more than capable of a turnaround even if Real do score in the home leg.

Reasons for Betting Tips

Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Real Madrid are favourites to sweep Bayern Munich at odds of 7/5 with Stan James whilst the draw, which would suit the hosts equally, can be backed at 11/4 with Stan James. If Bayern are to progress then they have to win here and score at least two goals. Bayern can be backed at 9/5.

Real Madrid have never lead from a first leg away tie and gone on not to qualify. It’s a stat that stands to be broken and they haven’t exactly been in the situation of leading the likes of Bayern from a first leg often either, so take that line with a pinch of salt perhaps.

Madrid have only lost two of their last 40 games in La Liga action and those were away from home. In Champions League action they’ve only lost one of 20 which was quite the surprising loss to Schalke but did come against German opposition. And sides simply do not stop Real Madrid from scoring at home in this competition. Back Real to score 2+ goals at odds of 4/5.

You have to expect that Bayern will come here and score, Schalke managed four, Sporting lead 1-0 and Manchester City nearly won here. Real always tend to sacrifice defence for attack and they will have those moments even in a tie like this. And I think it’s safe to presume one way or the other we should see three or four goals here. Back a 2-2 draw at odds of 12/1 with Paddy Power

Cristiano Ronaldo reached the 100 goal mark in European competition last time out and will need to be at his best again here. Ronaldo is generally a very short price to register at the Bernabeu and whilst he’s odds on here, it’s still a bigger price than we usually see. Back Cristiano Ronaldo to score at odds of 8/11 with Bet365.
