Ross County vs Celtic Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Match Preview

Celtic have had the title wrapped up for weeks mathematically, but in truth have been champions in waiting since the halfway stage. No one has kept pace and now they’re just two games away from an unbeaten domestic season. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.

Game: Ross County vs Celtic
Venue: Global Energy Stadium
Sunday 16th April, 12.30pm

Celtic haven’t lost at all domestically this season and Barcelona were the last side to beat them, 2-0 at Celtic Park, in any competition this season. That was 27 games and five long months ago and now only Ross County and the small matter of a Glasgow derby stand between Celtic and a historic season.

Whilst it’s clear the hoops have had the last laugh loudly and often throughout this season, it’ll still mean a lot should to the blue side should they be the side to end Celtic’s unbeaten hopes at the final hurdle, but Brendan Rogers’ side need to navigate a tricky trip to Dingwall first.

Ross County have already been beaten eight times here this season and that included a 4-0 loss to Celtic. On paper this game is going to be a breeze and Celtic wrapping up the title with a month to spare has done nothing to slow down their relentless assault on the rest of the league. Celtic began the month of April with a 5-0 win at Hearts.

Reasons for Betting Tips

Celtic don’t hold enough value to back in the 1X2 market, and neither do Ross County. The hosts can be backed at 13/2 with Coral whilst the draw is available at 15/4. Celtics odds of 4/11 with Coral are nothing more than an odds booster in a multiple.

Previous meetings between these two sides this season have seen Celtic win 4-0 here at Dingwall and 2-0 at Celtic Park. The Hoops seemed to have stumbled their way to a win at home against County in recent seasons, but away from home they’ve taken advantage of their hosts being slightly more attack minded.

Celtic have scored four or more goals in four of their last five visits to Dingwall, giving up just two goals in the process. There’s an outside chance Rogers’ men could get caught looking ahead to next week’s historic Glasgow derby, but we’ve come to expect nothing but professionalism this season.

Back our Free Betting Tip: Celtic -2AH at odds of 8/5 with Coral.

Whilst the odds on the handicap are for Celtic -1.5 we feel the visitors have been ruthless enough at this ground in recent years to merit a bigger handicap. Couple that with the fact Rogers men have won their last 12 away games and have won five of the last season by three or more goals.

Back our Score Prediction: 4-0 Celtic win at odds of 14/1 with Coral.

Moussa Dembele is one of many threats Celtic have but it’s been Scott Sinclair stepping up of late. Sinclair has netted five goals in his last three games and has found himself on penalty duty at times, rather than Dembele.

Back our Scorer Prediction: Scott Sinclair to keep his fine form going and net at odds of 3/4 with Coral
