Watford vs Huddersfield Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview
Watford’s scoring touch is deserting them at the wrong time. Troy Deeney’s failure to make it 2-0 against Palace on Tuesday allowed the Eagles in to win 2-1 late on, leaving the Hornets without a win in four games. It was cruel, but Silva’s men are still playing reasonably well ahead of the visit of struggling Huddersfield.
Game: Watford vs Huddersfield
Venue: Vicarage Road
Kick-off: Saturday 16th November, 3.00PM
Huddersfield’s 3-0 opening day victory at the start of the season was a continuation of their recent fairytale, but their away form since has seen it spiral in to a big of a nightmare. Town are winless in eight away and haven’t scored a single goal in that time. They’ve been outscored 19-0 and have become reliant on home form.
Watford’s home form has been very inconsistent this season. Manchester City scored six here, whilst United ran out 4-2 winners. Arsenal were toppled 2-1 and that was followed by a disappointing 1-0 loss to Stoke.
But the last five bottom half sides (at the time of the game) to visit Vicarage Road have failed to register a goal with the hosts winning four of those games. Huddersfield currently sit 12th in the Premier League table, but their dire away form can only be matched by Crystal Palace.
Watford are currently a 3/4 favourite to win with Unibet which by our reckoning is slightly generous. The draw is available at 29/10 with Betfair, whilst on paper you’ll struggle to make a case for backing Huddersfield at at 9/2 also with Betfair.
Watford will have to put the disappointment of their midweek reverse at Selhurst Park behind the quickly. Watford will feel they should have led 2-0 in that game, which arguably should have saw Crystal Palace reduced to 10 men before Tom Cleverley was sent off. Watford have performed very well in their last two home games despite only taking one point, and they’ll surely have this game earmarked as a very important opportunity.

Huddersfield need to find their scoring boots on the road and fast. The rate at which they’ve picked up points at home this season would be enough alone to survive based on recent season standings should they keep it up, but dips in form are inevitable. At the moment Huddersfield's desire and work rate has not been enough to close the gap in quality on their travels.
Back our Score Prediction: Watford to win 2-0 at 15/2 with Bet365
Troy Deeney’s strong goal scoring record against Crystal Palace took a dent on Tuesday evening as an open goal in the 30th minute kept the score at just 1-0. Watford went on to lose the game, and Deeney to rue that miss. The chances are coming for the big man whose recent performances are definitely deserving of a goal or two.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Troy Deeney to score at 9/5 with Betfair
