West Ham vs Chelsea Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview
A new manager usually brings about an instant impact, but Moyes’ West Ham side managed just a point at home to Leicester before back to back losses. Chelsea are in good form, but back to back defeats around the International break may have ended their title hopes.
Game: West Ham vs Chelsea
Venue: Olympic Park
Kick-off: Saturday 9th December, 12.30PM
West Ham parted way with Slaven Bilic ahead of the Hammers 1-1 draw at home with Leicester. Doom and gloom had been building around the Olympic stadium and the sacking became inevitable sometime before. The addition of David Moyes has yet to bring about a change of fortune, but West Ham have looked more organised in stages.
The Hammers outplayed Leicester for 45 minutes and looked strong, perhaps unfortunate not to pinch a second goal But they capitulated at Everton and despite a much, much more organised display at the Etihad, they lost 2-1.
Chelsea are building momentum at the moment having won six of their last seven games, with the only dropped points coming in a draw at Anfield. It is certainly the Blues who enter this game in a better vein of form, but last weekends performance would suggest that thing have to turn around for the Hammers at some point.
Sheffield United at best odds of 6/5 to win with Betfair Sportsbook, whilst the draw can be backed at price of 5/2 with Paddy Power. Bristol City have been strong on their travels and are available at 5/2 with Bet365.
West Ham and Chelsea have played a strong of close run games over the past few years. Chelsea have won three, drawn two and lost two of the last six meetings, none of which have been decided by more than a single goal. West Ham hold the home advantage here and given their performances against Manchester City, there’s everyone reason to believe they can keep it close again here.
Back our Free Betting Tip: West Ham +1.25AH at 1.80 with Bet365
At least one side has scored twice in six of the last seven meetings, and it may take West Ham awhile to work out their fragilities yet. But they’ve looked good on the counter recently and have registered in seven of their eight home games.
Back our Score Prediction: 2-2 draw at 20/1 with Bet365
Eden Hazard has been in increasingly fantastic form of late and has scored four goals whilst also assisting others in Chelsea’s last three wins on the road. West Ham have struggled to keep the little man quiet in recent meetings, with the Belgian playing a part in goals in each of the last three meetings.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Eden Hazard to score at 7/5 with Paddy Power
