Barnsley vs Fulham Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Both of these sides started like a house on fire and occupied top three positions in the table. Fulham raised eyebrows when they started their season with a win over Newcastle, and likewise Barnsley with their thrashing of Wolves. It's all been down hill for these two since, though.Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game:Barnsley vs Fulham
Kick-off: Saturday 15th October, 5.30pm
Barnsley started like a house on fire but have since been brought back down to earth by strong Reading and Brighton sides. Their strong start was made to feel like a long time ago, as rivals Leeds United compounded their recent loss of form by condemning them to a defeat at Elland Road.
After winning five of their first six games, it's now a case of no wins in four for Barnsley. It's far from a concern as the Tykes remain on 16 points and could push themselves back in to the playoff spots with a win. Most teams in this league spend the year fluttering in and out of form, but they'll want to make sure it's nothing more than that.
Fulham kicked off their campaign by winning five and drawing two of their first seven and have also been brought back down to earth since. The London club have scored just four goals in the last seven, losing four of those. Both sides will recognise the opportunity here, but this could be a cagey affair.
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Barnsley are 7/4 to win at home with Coral and those odds are far greater than what you'd of got just four weeks ago. The draw can be backed 49/20 with Winner whilst a Fulham win is available at 8/5 with Boylesports
Both of these teams were scoring quite freely at the start of the season and more than playing their part in some entertaining games. The goals have dried up for both sides, and four of Fulham's last five on their travels has witnessed two or fewer goals.
Barnsley games have been a regular easy money over this season, with only two of them failing to feature at least two goals. Both of those games came in their last three though, and whilst the Tykes aren't scoring as freely, perhaps they're learning to tighten things up.Back Under 2.5 goals at 11/10 with Betstars.
Whilst we accept that these two struggling defences are more than capable of falling apart at any moment, I do think it'll be more a case of frustrated attacks. Both sides will need to grow in to and then settle down in this cagey affair, and if one does take the lead, nerves and caution could set in.A 1-0Barnsley windraw is our correct score prediction at odds of 8/1 with Betfair.
It's tough to suggest a game will be so tight and cagey and then put your finger on a specific player to shine, but it might take just one moment of quality to settle this game. A likely candidate seems to be Adam Hammil who we know is a danger. It may just took a set piece of a moment of long distance brilliance to settle this.Back Adam Hamill to score at odds of 7/2 with Betway.
