Cardiff City vs. Bristol City Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Preview
Cardiff City have lost six of their last seven games in the league but they'll hope to benefit from the introduction of a new manager at the helm. Bristol City are in good form heading in to this game with their cross bridge rivals. Below are our predictions, betting tips and match preview.
Game: Cardiff City vs Bristol City
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium
Kick-off: Friday 14thOctober, 7.45pm
Bristol City find themselves on a run of four wins in a row after making light work of struggling Fulham twice in the month of September. They found themselves having to come from a goal down against Nottingham Forest, and were perhaps fortunate to hold on to a 1-0 win over Leeds United.
Cardiff City would more than settle for a bit of luck or having to win from behind at present, with just one win to their name in their last seven games. That come against a Rotherham side who are losing to practically everyone at present.
It's that win alone that is keeping Cardiff City from the bottle of the table this weekend, as they find themselves just two points ahead of Rotherham heading in to this game. The addition of their new manager is bound to provide a spark. Perhaps they can take confidence knowing they've performed well in this fixture, winning nine and drawing four of the last 15 meetings.
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Cardiff are best odds 19/10 with Bet Victor to win this game whilst the draw can be backed at 23/10 through Sky Bet. If you think Bristol City can continue their fine form, then they're available at 31/20 with Coral.
The odds certainly reflect both the nature of this feisty local affair and the many factors that will go in to deciding it. Whilst
on paper it should be a cut and dry affair with one badly out of sorts side against one of the league's in form, it won't be that simple.
With Sol Bamba marhsalling things at the back for new man Warnock – and likely to be made captain – Cardiff have a foundation. Hoilett and Chamakh with provide a spark in the attack. Even if it will take time for Warnock to build his sides way of playing and gel in his new players, it should draw a big crowd and the perfect atmosphere for Friday nights derby. It'll have the desired effect in the very short term at least, so back Cardiff City +0.25AH at odds of 7/9 with Bet Victor.
Bristol City aren't likely to change the way they plan for anyone at the moment. They'll be looking to go forward and test this suspect Cardiff defence. I think the hosts might have some new found momentum going forward themselves, and they should be well backed by a big, partisan crowd.Back a 2-2 draw at odds of 12/1 with Bet365.
Tammy Abraham may be riding a wave of momentum at the moment. He scored his first goal for England midweek, but he's scored once in five games for City. He's still on fire this season, but the young man could find it tough after such a busy and emotional week. Lambert will remember his one and only goal against Bristol City and I'm sure he'd cherish another one here.Back Lambert to score at 9/4 with Betstars.
