Game: Preston North End vs Huddersfield Town
Venue: Deepdale Stadium
Kick-off: Tuesday 18th October, 7.45pm
Preston now find themselves unbeaten in five games and have won four of their last five games at home. It looked as if their run would come to an end as they threw away a 1-0 lead at Brighton, but the 10 men of Preston – who found themselves shorthanded due to an injury after all three substitutions had been made – found a 90th minute equaliser.
Huddersfield have one less day to prepare for this game, but that may not be a bad thing. Although they played an intense affair against Wednesday on Sunday afternoon, they’ll be looking to their next game to get back on track. The Terriers were beaten 1-0 and no longer top the Championship table.
A 68th minute goal from Fernando Forestieri was enough to decide the all Yorkshire affair, a result meaning they remain in third place behind relegated sides Norwich and Newcastle. Town have only won three of seven away games, which pales in comparison to their home form. They could have had an easier game to get back on track.
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
This is an evenly priced game with Preston available to back at odds of 17/10 with William Hill and Huddersfield at 15/8 with Boylesports. A draw might not be such an unrealistic expectation in this one, and that can be backed at 23/10 with Betfred.
Simon Grayson is slowly building something at Preston as his side now find themselves unbeaten in five and also winners of four of their last five
games at home. Their performances against Villa and Brighton show they are more than just a number in the Championship.
Huddersfield have been rock solid at home, so they’ll be hoping their loss to Wednesday isn’t the beginning of them slipping out of form. They’ve found it tougher away from home than at home, already losing three games. Back Preston 0AH here at odds of 8/9 with Bet Victor.
Town’s 13 games so far this season have seen a decisive outcome 12 times, with their meeting with Aston Villa being the only game to finish level.
They’ve been hanging tough and excelling where the fine margins are concerned more often than not, with every single one of their remaining games
being decided by one goal. Town have won eight of those. Back Preston to win 2-1 at odds of 10/1 with Betfair.
Jordan Hugill has three goals in his last four games for Preston and continues to look a threat at home in particular. Palmer and Kachunga were Town’s stand out performers going forward on the weekend, but again neither found the back of the net. Back Jordan Hugill to score at odds of 13/5 with Bet365.
