QPR vs Aston Villa Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
QPR put in an almost dominant performance last time they played at home, putting Derby on the back foot before suffering a late loss. Villa went down to Leeds and Norwich, but remain largely unbeaten. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game: QPR vs Aston Villa
Venue: Loftus Road
Kick-off: Sunday 18th December, 12pm
Fans of Queens Park Rangers would have probably felt quite comfortable about their last home game against Derby - that is until Tom Ince settled it in the 86th minute - condemning the R’s to a very undeserved 1-0 home defeat.
After being beaten 2-0 at Elland Road, Villa bounced back with a home win over Wigan, but succumb to their second away defeat in a row when losing 1-0 to Norwich. Villa had spells on top in both games, but failed to make their dominance pay. Much like QPR of late.
Nathan Baker and Micah RIchards remain out injured for Villa. Steven Caulker is the biggest miss for the R’s, as he’s looked their strongest defender in the games he has played, but most of the injuries for these sides are long term.
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Queens Park Rangers are 13/5 with Bet365 to win this game whilst Aston Villa are 13/10 with Bet Victor. Villa have drawn a high percentage of games this season, and that’s a possibility again here at odds of 23/10 with Paddy Power.
Queens Park Rangers have failed to win eight of their 11 home games so far this season but haven’t lost three in a row at home, at this level, since 2007. Aston Villa have gone largely unbeaten but are showing some cracks on the road. They’re conceding goals and they’re not scoring.
SUprisingly, Villa’s only away win has come against high flyers Reading. That game aside, they’ve failed to win 11 competitive outings. QPR have avoided defeat in eight of 14 at home and have only ever lost five games in a row twice as far back as I can see - both in the Premier League. Back QPR +0.25AH at odds of 15/16 with Bet Victor.
A 6-0 defeat early in the season and a 3-0 reverse at Ipswich are the only big setbacks QPR have suffered this season, with most of their games being close run. Villa have seen 11 of their last 17 games decided by a goal or less, with 10 games being drawn this season. Back a 1-1 draw at odds of 11/2 with William Hill.
Villa have seen a range of different scorers. Kodija has five in eight, but the Villains have only registered four times in five away games. Only Connor Washington and Idrissa Sylla have scored more than once for QPR in their last 11, who are also struggling. This one is worth a shot. Back no first scorer at odds of 15/2 with William Hill.
