AFC Bournemouth vs Middlesbrough Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
This is a huge game for both sides here but the pressure is unusually on the visitors here, despite the expectations laying with Bournemouth. The hosts realistically need one more win to secure survival whilst Boro need four. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game: AFC Bournemouth vs Middlesbrough
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Kick-off: Saturday 22nd April, 3PM
There are no mathematical relegations to be had in the Premier League this weekend. Sunderland will likely be the first to drop but could go on the same day next week with Boro, who sit just three points ahead of them. Hull, Bournemouth, Burnley and Palace sit just outside the drop zone and are all in a relegation battle themselves.
Whilst those sides are only five to six points off the drop with six games to go, their recent form and home form are far too strong to see them take the plunge. Two of Boro, Sunderland and Swansea will be in the Championship next season. It just remains to be seen whether one of them can catch Hull.
AFC Bournemouth could pull themselves as many as 10 points clear with four games remaining on Saturday depending on how Swansea far at home to Stoke. Boro will be looking for their first win in 15 away games and have failed to score a goal in seven of their last eight on the road.
Bournemouth are strong odds on favourites at 4/5 with Coral and Boro’s road form supports that. The draw can be backed at odds of 13/5 and the visitors, Boro, are a large price at 10/3 with Coral also.
Boro’s away form offers them little hope of survival when you consider they must win at least four games realistically and only have six remaining, including Chelsea away and Man City at home. Regardless of the level of opposition Aitor Karanka’s men just don’t compete away from home and could be at the mercy of a relaxed Bournemouth side playing with little pressure here.
Boro have tended to save their best performances for the bigger sides this season and have been rather uninspiring against mid to lower placed sides. Bournemouth have been an all around tough nut to crack at home and have already made light work of Swansea and Hull here this season.
Back our Free Betting Tip: Bournemouth to win at odds of 4/5 with Coral.
Goals have been a feature of Bournemouth games whereas Boro games have been the polar opposite. The visitors have struggled to score but the hosts don’t do clean sheets. Boro did net against Arsenal and may need to be more adventurous in the final weeks if they are to survive.
Back our Score Prediction: a 3-1 Bournemouth with at odds of 14/1 with Coral.
Josh King has scored seven of Bournemouth’s last 10 games and that included a fantastic hattrick on this ground. He earned Bournemouth a valuable late point with an 87th minute goal at Anfield and seems to be in very confident mood over the past month or so.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Josh King to score at 13/8 with Coral.
