Burnley vs Newcastle Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Match Preview

Burnley have lost just two of their 11 games in all competitions. Newcastle have only lost one of the last seven themselves, so this is a meeting of two of the Premier League’s form sides at Turf Moor.

Game: Burnley vs Newcastle

Venue: Turf Moor Stadium

Kick-off: Monday 30th October, 8.00PM

Burnley’s defeats were on an off day against visiting West Brom, and during a tough trip to Manchester City. Burnley could leapfrog Newcastle from 8th and go as high as 6th, whilst the Toon could put four points between them and Sean Dyche’s men. The picture is likely to change considerably by the time these two clash on Monday.

Newcastle have made the best start to a Premier League season by a promoted side since West Ham in 2012, and that Hammers side went on to finish 10th under Sam Allardyce. There are similarities to be made with Sean Dyche who has been getting the most out of these Burnley players for some time now.

Reasons for Betting Tips

Burnley are best price 19/10 with Bet365 for the visit of Newcastle, whilst the draw is available at 11/5 with Betfair. Newcastle are priced at 17/10 with Betfred, which makes the visitors a slightly surprise favorite here.

Although Newcastle are in fine form, a win here would only be their second in 17 games at this level. They were good value against Swansea during a 1-0 win in September, but Benitez’s men have failed to win the three other games they’ve contested on the road.

And it’s taken a good team to beat Burnley at Turf Moor. West Ham and West Brom were the last two sides to win here and you’d call those lesser expected, with only sides in the top six managing to take all three points here in the previous 18 games.

The betting market has seen both Burnley and Newcastle drift so far this week with odds on the draw dropping. Punters have found it hard to split these two in-form sides, and there may well be very little to split them on the pitch. Although a cagey game may be expected, both sides will be expected to take the game to one another and should find the net.

Back our Free Betting Tip: Both Teams Score at 4/5 with Ladbrokes

Both sides are in good enough form to find the back of the net, but at the same time both sides have seen a 1-1 draw in recent games as three of four games have featured fewer than three goals. With little to split these two in paper, it could finish all square on the pitch.

Back our Score Prediction: 1-1 Draw at 9/2 with Bet365

Chris Wood has adapted to life pretty well at this level. Burnley seem a good fit for the New Zealand International, as most of Dyche’s player's, most of whom came from the same level, have success that is born out of hard work and pure grit. Wood has been just as plucky and industrious in-front of goal, and the target man could put himself in the right position again here.
