Burton Albion vs Sheffield United Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview

Match Preview
Sheffield United could move back to the top of the table with a win at Burton on Friday evening, where the home side will be hoping to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
Game: Burton Albion vs Sheffield United
Venue: Pirelli Stadium
Kick-off: Friday, 17th November, 7.45PM
Sheffield United have been terrific all season and bounced back well from a 1-0 defeat at QPR. The Blades thrashed Hull City 4-1 before the International break and seemed to grow stronger as the game went on. The results extended United’s good home form, but they have looked weaker away from home.
Their wins at Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday showed their quality and determination in big games recently, but they’ve won four and lost four of their last eight on the road. Like most sides in the Championship, Sheffield United are inconsistency when on their travels.
Last season Burton had a fantastic record against the top sides here and struggled more against those in and around them. It’s been the other way round this season and if United repeat the type of performance that saw them win at Leeds then the hosts would be hard pushed to get anything here.
Reasons for Betting Tips
Burton are a big price at 14/5 with Bet365 whilst the draw can be backed at 11/4 with Betfred. United will aim to become the fourth side in the top seven to win here this season at 10/11 with Betfair.
Aston Villa and Wolves both came here and won 4-0 recently, whilst Cardiff City were victors with a clean sheet. Burton’s results have come about lower place sides and were beaten comfortably by Hull, Leeds and Boro earlier in the season.
Sheffield United have the look of another side who just have too much for struggling Albion at the moment. The hosts did go on a tidy run between mid August and September, but since then they’ve fallen away dramatically and conceded goals at an alarming rate.
Back our Free Betting Tip: Sheffield United -1AH at 7/4 with Bet365
Burton have scored in 13 of their last 16 home games, but it was sides in the top seven that kept them out so far this season. Struggling and inconsistent sides in Fulham, Barnsley and Birmingham are the only teams to be troubled here this season, but even Barnsley managed four and left with all three points.
Sheffield United had scored 10 goals in five away games after a tough start to life in the Championship. QPR held them scoreless during their last away game, and Wilder’s men will think it important to get back to scoring here. Seven of their last nine wins have seen United score at least two goals.
Back our Score Prediction: Sheffield United to win 3-1 at 15/1 with Bet365
Billy Sharpe and Leon Clarke have both been dangerous in front of goal, but so have the supporting cast. Young David Brooks looks like a talent whose performances are worthy of more than the one goal he has, whilst the hosts just look blunt far too often to chance a Burton scorer. Clarke netted four against Hull and turned the game around and already has a pair of goals on his travels.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Leon Clarke to score at (Awaiting Odds)
