Cardiff vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Sheffield Wednesday have won their last two away games, but they haven't won three in a row on their travels since 2007 at this level. Cardiff have a renewed sense of spirit under Neil Warnock.Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game:Cardiff vs Sheffield Wednesday
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium
Kick-off: Wednesday19th, October, 7.45pm
Cardiff City looked a different team under Neil Warnock. They had far more spirit and passion than we had seen before, and they were well supported by a much larger crowd. The effect a new manager can have on any team is pretty huge, so City will need to make sure it's not short lived.
Sheffield Wednesdayhave won their last two games on the road without allowing a goal. It's only the secondtime this yearthey've managed that, but we have to go all the way back to 2007 to find the last time they won three away games in a row at this level. That's relevant.
Cardiff have won just three games all season but they'll be pleased to know that even in their best seasons, Wednesdayhave never been a consistent side on the road. They failed to win their first four on their travel this season and should slip back in to the same poor form here.
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Cardiff are best odds 9/4 with Bet365 to win this game whilst the draw can be backed at 23/10 with Sky Bet. Sheffield Wednesday can be backed at 6/4 with William Hill.
Sheffield Wednesdaywon 1-0 on their travels again against Huddersfield, with Fernando Forestieri's penalty in the 68th
minute deciding the game. It was a tight affair that either side could of perhaps snatched, with 0-0 perhaps being the fairest possible result on the day.
Most of Wednesday'sgames have been decided by the odd goal and althoguh Cardiff seem to enjoy losing by two goals at home, I think Warnock's impact will last a little bit longer at least and make them competitive again here.Back Cardiff +0.25AH at best odds of 13/16 with Bet Victor.
12 of Wednesday's13 games have been decided by one goal or less this season. Cardiff have kept things tight
more often than not, but they're losing out of fine margins. They have been beaten by two or more goals on five occasions, though. I think
we'll see them compete here, but it isn't likely to be a classic. Back Cardiff and Wednesday to draw 1-1 at odds of 11/2 with Bet Victor.
MarouaneChamakh and Junior Hoilett have both been brought in to boost Cardiff's attack. They goals came from midfield and defence on Friday, but the new boys should take some of the attention and pressure off of Rickie Lambert who performed well again during his last outing. Back Lambert to get on the score sheet here at odds of 27/11 with Unibet
