Celtic vs Manchester City Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Celtic are once again set to dominate the Scottish Premier League, but they don't have enough to measure up to teams like this. That much was clear against Barcelona. Despite being at home, I think this is too big an ask.Below are our predictions, betting tips and preview.

Game: Celtic vs Man City

Venue: Celtic Park

Kick-off: Wednesday 28th September, 7.45pm

It will be another fantastic atmosphere on Wednesday evening here, but Celtic were taught a real lesson in football in the last round of games. Barcelona were absolutely dominant against the Scottish side and whilst City won't hand out equal punishment on their travels, they should still win this game in my opinion.

The experienced Pablo Zabaleta has warned of 'a backlash' from Celtic. A long time City servant, I feel he's just showing his experience and professionalism there. I don't think Celtic are anywhere near good enough defensively to keep out this City team.Pep's men have been playing brilliant, flowing football, but I still think it's clear they have things to work on and there is a lot more to come from them. That is perhaps a scary thought given that they have won their first 10 games of the new season.

Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Man City are best odds of 4/11 with Paddy Power and that holds little value. The draw can be backed at odds of 5/1 with Paddy Power also whilst Celtic are available to bet on at 17/2 with Winner.

We should remember that this is a Celtic side who have produced endless, memorable results in Europe over the years where on paper you would say they've punched above their weight. The highlights was beating Barcelona, but their 7-0 loss in the Nou Camp represents regression for me.

They progressed in to this group stage by beating Hapoel Beer Sheva 5-4 on aggregate. They were beaten 2-0 in the second leg, nearly going out on away goals. An 85th minute goal that they perhaps didn't deserve in the first leg was the eventual difference.Man City demonstrated their progression by beating Gladbach 4-0 (it should have been a lot, lot more) and improving on their 4-2 win over the same side last season. City rarely looked like conceding and should have added to the margin of victory. Given the way they're playing at the moment going forward, City can win this game by more than one goal. Back Manchester City –1.5AH at odds of 19/20 with Bet365.

I don't know if we'll see City hit the heights of their last game, and Celtic do have the motivation of bouncing back. I think the visitors will break down this weak Celtic defence multiple times though, and I expect Pep's side to show just how dominant they are right now. Back City to win 3-1 at odds of 9/1 with 888Sport.

Purely for the fact that Aguero is too short a price here, I'll back KelhiIheanacho to make it four goals in six games here. He's available at odds of 21/20 with Betfair.
