Leeds United vs Burton Albion, Betting Tips and Preview
Leeds United are the only side in the English Football League that remain unbeaten in all competitions. Burton Albion seems to relish the big boys coming to town, but they’ve not quite matched those performances on their travels, already losing 4-0 to Hull City.
Game: Leeds United vs Burton Albion
Venue: Elland Road
Kick-off: Saturday 9th September, 3PM
Leeds United are unbeaten in all competitions side so far and are the only side outside of the Premier League to remain unbeaten. Port Vale and Newport were dispatched emphatically in the cup, but despite three away wins at Bolton, Sunderland and Forest, Leeds have yet to win at home.
But the Yorkshire side have looked just as dangerous and have only allowed one goal in their first four games here. Burton have been a tough nut to crack at home ever since arriving in the Championship, but they haven’t matched that away. Hull and Boro have swept them aside so far this season so if Leeds are to challenge they may need to match that.
Leeds United are overwhelming favorites with the bookmakers to win this game at best odds of 4/7 with Sky Bet whilst the draw is available at 2/1 with Bet365. Burton Albion can be backed at 4/1 to spring a surprise in Yorkshire.
Leeds United will be without Caleb Ekuban and potentially Pierre-Michel Lasogga who’s wife is due to give birth. That’s not ideal as Leeds have drawn their last two home games 0-0, but new signing Pawel Cibicki could be involved.
Given Leeds United mean defensive performances so far this season that have seen them allow just four goals in seven games in all competitions, and that was without the services of suspended Pontus Jansson and the injured Gaetano Berardi in stages. Once United start putting the ball in the net here, they could be far too strong all over the pitch for visiting sides like Burton.

Leeds United were 2-0 winners against Burton here last year and they wouldn’t have forgotten the shocking performance that all but ended their playoff hopes against Albion last year. Burton have failed to net in nine of their last 20 away games, whilst Leeds have kept a clean sheet in 11 of their last 15 home games.
Back our Score Prediction: Leeds United 2-0 at 13/2 with Paddy Power
Despite the added firepower that Leeds came out of the transfer window with, it wouldn’t be fair to drop Kemar Roofe on the back of a hat-trick and a fantastic performance away to Nottingham Forest. It seems the striker's role could be Roofe’s to lose and with Lasogga one of several unlikely to feature here, Roofe might want to make the most of this game.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Kemar Roofe at odds of 13/8 with Bet365
