Match Preview

Two sides under new management will meet at the King Power on Sunday, with both hoverings precariously above the drop zone. Claude Puel appointment is permanent, whilst David Unsworth will want to impress here.

Game: Leicester City vs Everton

Venue: King Power Stadium

Kick-off: Sunday 29th October, 4.00PM

We see so often in football the effect a new manager can have on a side, and it’s a viable betting angle. But what about two sides under new management? Well, David Unsworth will be keen to impress and make the job a permanent one, whilst the Leicester players will need to impress the new man at their helm.

Leicester find themselves unbeaten in four games now, with their last two games producing back to back wins over Swansea City and Leeds United. They’re both challenging opponents in their own way. Everton have had a tougher fixture list, but they’ve not responded well to the challenge.

Reasons for Betting Tips

Leicester are 6/5 with Bet Victor to pick up their first win under Claude Puel whilst the draw is available at 5/2 with Betfair. David Unsworth is only caretaker manager, but either way will take charge Sunday and his Everton side are 11/4 with Bet365.

Now that Leicester City have put together a run of form there’s light at the end of the tunnel. There’s a strong argument to be made that there was no need to sack either of their last two managers, but a win here would put Leicester in the position of being a top half side who have lost to only Liverpool, United and Chelsea in 11 games.

Everton will be keen to impress their caretaker manager after going six games without a win. Although they’ve faced some tough games, Apollon, Brighton and Burnley should not, on paper, be taking points off of Everton with such ease. The Toffees were fortunate to leave Brighton with anything, and showed a lack of character against Apollon.

Leicester won 2-0 here last season. But that aside, only sides finishing in the top five have won here since May 2015. Leicester have not lost a home game at the King Power to a side in the bottom five of the Premier League and they’ll fancy all three here.

Even when picking up points, City haven’t done it the easy way. They’ve given away a goal in six of their last seven games and fell behind to both West Brom and Leeds United in their recent unbeaten run. Everton are finally finding the net, but they look shaky at the back.

Back our Score Prediction: Leicester 2-1 at 17/2 with Bet365

Leicester are a good unit as opposed to a team blessed with individual talent, but Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy obviously fit both categories, and the latter is tasked with scoring the goals. Vardy has netted five in nine so far this season but you still feel there is better to come from him.

Back our Scorer Prediction: Jamie Vardy to score at 11/8 with Betfair
