Leicester City vs Fleetwood Town Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview

Match Preview

The inevitable headlines here will be the second opportunity for Jamie Vardy to be reunited with Fleetwood, but Claude Puel men have a professional job to do here and are clear favourites to advance past Fleetwood comfortably.

Game: Leicester City vs Fleetwood Town

Venue: King Power Stadium

Kick-off: Tuesday, 16th January, 7.45pm

Jamie Vardy’s fairytale rise from part-time non-league technician to England international and star striker nearly came full circle when Leicester were drawn against Fleetwood, but Vardy missed the game through injury. After a 0-0 draw the pair will do battle again on Tuesday.

There were some heroic Fleetwood performances in the first leg even though Town couldn’t make the breakthrough. Leicester’s internationals looked extremely uncomfortable in their surroundings and misplaced passes were a common theme.

Fleetwood will need to find a way to be even tighter on a bigger pitch that is going to suit Leicester’s passing game, and City’s cup performances against Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester City could be a good indication that Fleetwood are in for a very tough game here.

Reasons for Betting Tips

Leicester City are slim pickings at a price of 1/4 with Betfred whilst the draw is best odds 5/1 with Betfair. Fleetwood were terrific in the first leg, but 14/1 with Bet365 sums up the size of their task here.

Fleetwood were impressive in the first leg but it’ll be a different challenge altogether to repeat that away from home. Leicester have beaten Liverpool and Leeds by two clear goals here in cup action this season and held Man City to a 1-1 draw. Fleetwood will battle but the handicap looks to be generous.

Back our Free Betting Tip: Leicester City -1.5AH at 7/10 with Bet365

Fleetwood did trouble the Leicester goal in the first leg but didn’t force their best chance until late on. Leicester created little with a much-changed side, but even that same side should fair a lot better on a bigger and better surface at home. Premier League quality should shine through eventually here.

Back our Score Prediction: Leicester to win 2-0 at 51/10 with Betfred

Jamie Vardy will not doubt want to play against his former club and should feature, but elsewhere Puel may look to rest on the back of a tough game with Chelsea. Adrien Silva is fit again after limping off in the first leg and should feel more comfortable in the surroundings of the King Power.

Back our Scorer Prediction: Adrien Silva to score at 9/4 with Bet365
