Liverpool vs Watford Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview
Watford and Liverpool is one of four Premier League games to survive over the weekend, as the FA Cup quarter-finals take place. It gives Liverpool an opportunity to steal back third place from Spurs, if only temporarily.
Game: Liverpool vs Watford
Venue: Anfield Stadium
Kick-off: Saturday, 17th March, 7.45pm
Liverpool sit fourth in the Premier League table but do at least find themselves four points clear of the chasing pack headed by Chelsea. Arsenal sit a further eight points behind which already as good as guarantees Liverpool European football again, but Klopp’s men will be targeting an easier path as Premier League runners up.
Watford have squashed their extremely outside fear of being caught up in a relegation battle. They’ve won three of their last four and will now be playing with much lesser pressure on their shoulders. Watford’s next goal will be simply to finish as high as they can in the Premier League table.
Liverpool are runaway favourites at odds of 1/5 with Unibet whilst the draw can be backed at 15/2 through Betfred. Watford are a massive 18/1 with Coral.
Liverpool’s price to win isn’t even worth considering for bettors, so their value on the day comes down to how well you think they can beat Watford. The asian handicap currently sits at -2AH. Whilst it’s true Watford know they have easier games ahead, they’re also able to play without pressure. A 3-0 defeat to Arsenal was arguably more expected as the Gunners have been in perfect at home and needed a big response last week.
Liverpool have beaten five sides by three or more at home this season. It’s a good ratio given the size of that task, but it still means they haven’t done so on nine occasions. And in fact, Arsenal are the first side to beat Watford (when away) by that margin since May of 2017. Watford’s last visit here was an utter shambles and the players can’t have forgotten that.

Liverpool are so full of goals at home, whilst Watford are drawing blanks on the road. Klopp’s men have always shown frailties against sides outside the top six though, and Watford will sooner or later return to their early season goalscoring form you would think.
Back our Score Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 at 9/1 with Bet365
Troy Deeney is starting to find goals from open play at a time when Watford’s second top scorer finally missed a penalty. But Deeney has never scored against Liverpool. Mo Salah seems to score every game he plays but with his odds to thin to back, consider Mane who has scored five in his last five.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Sadio Mane at 5/4 with Betfred
