Man City vs West Ham Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview
Raheem Sterling’s injury time winner against Southampton was quite sublime, and it may be one of many small steps toward the title City are making. West Ham come here desperate after a 4-0 beating by Everton in Moyes’ first away game as Hammers boss.
Game: Man City vs West Ham
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Kick-off: Sunday, 3rd December, 4PM
Raheem Sterling produced quite a sublime curling effort to steal all three points on Wednesday evening. It was the fourth time this season the England wide-man had struck for Manchester City in injury time, earning them seven of the eight points that sets them and Manchester United apart.
West Ham looked much improved in their 1-1 draw with Leicester despite being second best for large parts of the first half. The Hammers followed that up with a 4-0 defeat against fellow strugglers Everton, a game that cast further doubt over the position of Joe Hart as England goalkeeper.
Manchester City offer little incentive at odds of 1/12 with Bet365, whilst the 12/1 through Unibet on offer for the draw probably isn’t enough to tempt. West Ham can be backed at a whopping 28/1 with Coral.
It seems an impossible task for West Ham, as all but Everton have fallen before Manchester City this season, and that game saw the Citizens finish with 10 men on the pitch. Manchester City have now extended their winning run to 17 in Premier League and Champions League action.
Teams have been outscored 30 goals to five during that stretch and sides who have found themselves in the bottom five such as Palace and Stoke have been beaten 5-0 and 7-2 here. Those score lines don’t make for pretty reading for Hammers fans, especially on the back of their 4-0 defeat midweek.West Ham will need to be very spirited to prevent an almighty hammering here.
Back our Free Betting Tip: Man City -3AH at 11/10 with Bet365
The expectancy for this game would leave you to believe Manchester City could net anywhere from three to six goals, with a Hammers response looking not that likely. But the Hammers may put up increased resistance early on, and may even find a goal. They’ll certainly battle and improvements are probably only just around the corner, but this is a tough, tough game that has come far too soon.
Back our Score Prediction: Man City 5-1 at 20/1 with Bet365
Sergio Aguero is an obvious candidate to score here, whilst Gabriel Jesus is just as likely yet both are not at desirable prices. Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling have been unstoppable against the opposing fullbacks this season, and you’d have to worry about Pablo Zabaleta and his lack of pace in particular. But Sane is a doubt and Sterling could pop up on either side.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Raheem Sterling at 1/1 with Betfred
