MK Dons vs Port Vale Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Our attentions turn to Stadium MK on Sunday afternoon for the second of our League One double header, as MK Dons prepare to welcome Port Vale. Below are our predictions, betting tips and preview.

Game: MK Dons vs Port Vale
Venue: Stadium MK
Kick-off: Sunday 9
th October, 2.15pm

These two sides have been consistently inconsistent so far this season. Port Vale, prior to their shock loss to winless Coventry, had won five out of five at home making them the only team with a perfect home record in league one. They remain winless of their travels however.

MK Dons are the form away side in League One. Northampton slowed them down with a 3-2 loss, but that aside they've won six and drawn two in all competitions. At home they've yet to win any of the six games they've played in all competitions.

This game is a good opportunity for both sides to get the win they've yet to achieve. Or it could well be a drab, goalless and un-inspiring affair. It's hard to know if this game will be won by the side who wants it more or lost by the side who want it less.

Match Predictions and Betting Tips

The price on MK Dons to win this game continues to shorten. It is currently 4/5 with Sky Bet and several other outlets. The draw can be backed at best odds 14/5 through Stan James and Coral offer 17/5 on a Port Vale win.

It isn't easy knowing where to put your money on this one, but the reality is I know what you're all like. This game is on TVon a quiet Sunday afternoon, so you're probably going to bet on it regardless of the fact it's a terrible game. And I must admit. I probably will too. So let's at least try and be smart about it, shall we?

I'm not going to even pretend to know who might win this game, but what I do know is MK Dons have given away two or more goals to the visiting side on five of six home games this season. Port Vale have done exactly the same on the road, twice throwing away a lead to lose.

What we have to consider here is if these attacks are so bad that this will remain a tight game, or if poor defending will decide the game and this will be a much more open affair. Having seen Port Vale myself this season, they don't look to set up well on the road. And they're happy to pile forward still. MK Dons will recognise the chance in front of them here, so they can't sit off. Back Over 2.5 goals at best odds 5/6 with Bet Victor as our free betting Tip.

I've already made my feelings known here. It's a tricky one and I don't trust either side to win it, but I'd put my life on either finding ways to chuck it away. Back 2-2 as our correct score at 15/1 with William Hill.

Youngster Alex Jones has been the bright spark for Port Vale. He has four at home and two on the road and he looks like a right little poacher.Back Alex Jones to score at 12/5 with Paddy Power.
