Newcastle vs Brentford Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Both of these sides started like a house on fire and occupied top three positions in the table. Fulham raised eyebrows when they started their season with a win over Newcastle, and likewise Barnsley with their thrashing of Wolves. It's all been down hill for these two since, though.Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.

Game: Newcastle United vs Brentford
Venue: St James Park
Kick-off: Saturday 15
th October, 3pm

It was a slow start to the season for Newcastle after they were beaten by Fulham and Huddersfield, but it was very short lived. They've since won nine of their last 10, with only a surprise defeat at home to Wolves ruining a near perfect record.
It looked as if they could be heading towards another rough patch as they trailed Norwich 3-1 and looked to be heading towards a third straight game without a win, until a second half effort and two goals in injury time gave the Toon a 4-3 win that demonstrated just how much quality and character they have.

Brentford have pushed themselves in to the upper reaches of the Championship table with their strong home form. They certainly haven't duplicated that on the road, winning just once in six games on their travels, a surprise 2-0 win over Brighton.

Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Newcastle are best odds 4/7 with Sky Bet to win this game, which is still a very short - but fair – price. The draw can be backed at 10/3 with Winner whilst visitors Brentford are available at a price of 4/1 with Ladbrokes and others.

We're all starting to see just how strong Newcastle are. The advantage this side have a home is incomparable at this level of football, and they're getting fantastic backing away from home. They've invested heavily to get out of this league and with the effect parachute payments are starting to have, we're seeing Championship teams starting to struggle with yo-yoers of recent years like Norwich and Newcastle.
They've only allowed two teams the fortunate of a goal en-route to their nine league wins so far, so you must fear the worst for a Brentford side who have only managed a single goal or less in five of their six away games, and were beaten 1-0 by Exeter in the League Cup in August. The Toon have hit 25 goals in 11 games.Back Newcastle -1AH at best odds of 19/20 with William Hill is our free betting tip. With all the above factors taken in to account, it's fair to suggest Brentford could be up against it here. If Newcastle can go to a relatively steady QPR side and hit six without any trouble, or complete an 18 minute turnaround like they did against Norwich, then on their day they could dismantle the likes of Brentford too. A 3-0Newcastle win is our correct score prediction at odds of 9/1 with Sky Bet.

Your defence is terrified, Dwight Gayle's on fire! Gayle hit a hat-trick to complete a magic turnaround against Norwich last time he featured at home and has already racked up seven goals in nine games despite injuries disrupting his early season.Back Dwight Gayle to score at odds of 13/10 with Bet365.
