Preston North End vs Bolton Wanderers Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview

Match Preview
Preston North End had looked so hard to break down for a large part of the early season, but they’re spiraling out of control. Visiting Bolton have had struggles of their own but will hope to take advantage here.
Game: Preston North End vs Bolton Wanderers
Venue: Deepdale Stadium
Kick-off: Friday, 17th November, 7.45PM
Preston have gone from a defensive huggernaut to a side that can’t stop giving away goals. They’ve now allowed 13 in their last five games, losing the last four to Wolves, Brentford, Villa and Ipswich. It’s a tough run of games, but it was still out of character.
They’d allowed just six goals in their previous 11 games, keeping clean sheets away to Leeds and Middlesbrough, and keeping out Cardiff, Reading and Millwall at home. After an unbeaten six game home run to start their campaign, a series of draws and losses has left it looking more like one win in six for Preston.
Bolton have done well to improve their overall standing recently, picking up their first two wins of the season and going unbeaten in their last five games. Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City were surprisingly cut down to size by a Bolton team that had lost eight straight without scoring.
Reasons for Betting Tips
The hosts are very much clear favorites to get back on track here at best odds of 4/5 with Betfred. The draw is 11/4 with Unibet and the in-form visitors, Bolton, are 4/1 with Betfair.
Despite their horrible overall form that sees them sat on 11 points one place above the foot of the table still, Bolton have managed to avoid defeat in five of their 10 away games. Their good run of form has coincided with Sammy Ameobi’s increasingly good performances, and Bolton finally hold a big enough threat to punish ailing defences like Prestons.
Unfortunately for Wanderers fans, Bolton still feel like a side that could tail back off into mediocrity, and Preston are sure to get back to their best form at some stage. But turning things around at this level is very hard to do, and keeping hold of any momentum you get is vital.
Back our Free Betting Tip: Bolton Wanderers +0.75AH at 43/50 with Bet354
Despite their improving form, it’s hard to see Bolton not struggling defensively against Preston’s attacking qualities. But the hosts are letting themselves down at the other end of the pitch, losing 2-3 in two of their last four games.
Back our Score Prediction: A 2-2 Draw at 14/1 with Betfair
Gary Madine remains Wanderers top goal scorer with four goals in League action, but Sammy Ameobi is having an increasing influence and has three during Bolton’s five game unbeaten run. Preston have been slack at the back for a while now and they will afford Bolton chances in this game.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Sammy Ameobi to score (Awaiting Odds)Video
