Stoke City vs West Ham Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Stoke started the season so well with a 1-0 win over Arsenal, but defensive issues have lead to inconsistency since then. West Ham haven’t played well on their travels so far, but they’re definitely an improving side under Moyes, and they have been very hard to beat away from home in the past.
Game: Stoke City vs West Ham
Venue: Bet365 Stadium
Kick-off: Saturday 16th November, 3.00PM
It took Stoke City just seven games to surpass half of the totals goals scored on this ground in 23 games last season. City seem far more open than usual this season Hughes’ side has allowed the last seven visitors to the Bet365 stadium to register at least one goal, whilst only Liverpool and Chelsea have kept the hosts out.
Stoke seemed to peak early with a 1-0 win over Arsenal in their first home game of the season. Since that game the Potters have struggled to find their consistency, but you may argue at least six of their remaining 11 fixtures are far more winnable than the games where Stoke have slipped up thus far.
West Ham have put together back to back results at home for the first time this season but continue to struggle on their travels. The Hammers were so much better against Man City but still succumb to a 2-1 defeat. Defensively Moyes’ men have been very weak on the road, but there are signs that things are improving and fast.
Stoke City can be bet on at odds of 23/20 with Sky Bet whilst the draw is available at 12/5 through Betfair. West Ham have yet to win away this season, but odds of 13/5 with Bet365 reflect their recent improvement.
Each of the eight games Stoke have played since their 1-0 win over Arsenal have featured at least three goals. Six of West Ham’s nine away goals have gone over the goals total with seven of their hosts scoring two or more goals alone. Despite West Ham’s improved organisation lately, Stoke are a time they’re more likely to come and attack. Look for another open game at the Bet365 stadium.

It’s a brave call to claim West Ham will pick up their first away win of the season here, but that’s exactly what we are going to do. The Hammers are improving and have given both Chelsea and City a headache recently. West Ham should feel more comfortable coming out of their shell and attacking here.
Back our Score Prediction: West Ham to win 2-1 at 11/1 with Paddy Power
West Ham have no standout scoring this season as they just begin to find their stride. Marko Arnautovic has been good during their last few games and scored the winning goal against Chelsea. The big Austrian may be crucial to any hopes West Ham have this season, and like any player, he’d surely love to bag a goal against his former employers.
Back our Scorer Prediction: Marko Arnautovic at 7/2 with Betfred
