Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Predictions, Betting Tips & Preview

Match Preview

Tottenham made a bit of history as they absolutely swept aside Real Madrid at Wembley midweek, a performance a world away from their capitulation against West Ham. Palace are improving, but their impossible task continues here. No team has suffered a harder fixture list then Palace so far.

Game: Tottenham vs Crystal Palace
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Kick-off: Sunday 5th November, 12PM

Tottenham’s blip against West Ham is an unexplainable one. Dominate for 45 minutes and leading 2-0, they just fell apart in the second half. Pochettino’s men were on course for four straight wins at Wembley before that, firmly putting to bed early season talk about a Wembley hoodoo.

Crystal Palace’s first 10 games of the season has seen them lose eight, fail to score in eight and allow 21 goals. During that spell Palace have faced four of the big six and faced some tough away trips such as Turf Moor, but things aren’t going to get any easier here.

Crystal Palace’s injury-time draw against West Ham could provide a lift here, whilst Tottenham may just let their guard down after such a big win. But recent history suggests Palace’s luck is unlucky to turn here, as Hodgson’s men have failed to score during their last four Premier League trips to Spurs.

Reasons for Betting Tips

Tottenham are big favorites at best odds 3/10 with Sky Bet whilst the draw can be backed at 11/2 through Betfair. Crystal Palace are best odds 11/1 with Betfred.

With nine goals in their last three outings at Wembley, Tottenham’s attack is gathering pace. Harry Kane is expected to return to the line-up here, whilst Crystal Palace are still waiting to find out who will score their first Premier League away goal. Results against Chelsea and West Ham are something Spurs could not manage, but both of those games were played at home. Until Palace start performing and scoring away, it’s hard to fancy them.

Palace are likely to be hardworking and industrious, but their efforts will stop there. They’ve shown little to no quality against worse sides on their travels so far and it feels like they’re meeting Spurs are the worst possible time here. Spurs have won 14 home games with a clean sheet since the turn of last season in a 1-0 win over Palace. Palace should have the work ethic to keep it respectable.

Back our Score Prediction: Spurs 1-0 at 15/2 with Betfred

Harry Kane’s absence went unnoticed midweek as Spurs progressed to the knockout round of the Champions League, but Kane has eight goals in nine when starting and has played a part in four goals in his last four starts against Crystal Palace.

Back our Scorer Prediction: Harry Kane at 4/9 with Betfred
