West Ham vs Chelsea Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview
Chelsea will look to keep their superb form going when they visit the Olympic Stadium on Monday evening to face a somewhat revived West Ham United side. Below are our match predictions, betting tips and preview.
Game: West Ham vs Chelsea Venue: Olympic Stadium Kick-off: Monday 6th March, 8pm
Slaven Billic’s West Ham side have picked up six wins and two draws in their last 10 games which is definitely a marked improvement on what went before. The Hammers had been beaten in nine of their previous 15 games and the Olympic Stadium was a far cry from Upton Park.
The next problem for Billic will be helping his players turn their new home into a fortress like Upton once was. Despite the upswing in form West Ham have won just five of 14 at home with all of those victories coming against struggling sides.
Chelsea haven’t really been any less of a threat away than they have been at home. Conte’s men have won nine straight at the bridge and seven of their last 10 away despite that run including some tough trips to Liverpool, Burnley, Tottenham and Manchester City.
Reasons for Betting Tips
Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Hosts West Ham are as big as 11/2 with Betfair whilst the draw is priced at 16/5 with Marathon Bet. There’s little value to be had betting on Chelsea, who are best odds 8/13 with Sky Bet and several other outlets.
The away side in this fixture has avoided defeat in precisely 50% of the last 50 meetings and Chelsea will be looking for revenge here after they suffered a 2-1 loss in the League Cup here during October. That was the last meeting between these two clubs, with goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa deciding the game at Stamford Bridge in August.
Chelsea have claimed 16 wins and four draws from their last 23 meetings with the Hammers, generally dominating this fixture over the years. Despite a revival from the Hammers they still aren’t firing consistently at home and Chelsea are in a real groove at present. Back Chelsea -0.75AH at odds of 4/5 with Bet Victor.
Conte’s men have only registered three or more goals in a Premier League away game twice this season despite their many threats, but the Hammers have suffered reverses of 3-0 or worse in four of their last five home losses but should be good for a goal in such a big game. Back a 3-1 Chelsea win at 66/5 with Betfair.
Diego Costa is never far away from the goals but it’s been Pedro who has performed most consistently in Chelsea’s last eight games, netting in half of those. He may be of use against a West Ham side who do push their full backs forward and leave gaps. Back Pedro to scoreat odds of 15/8 with Bet365.
