Ayr Gold Cup Horse Racing Tips, Betting Odds & Preview

Today Gary Priestley brings you his free horse racing tips of the Ayr Gold, Silver and Bronze cups. Gary has made it no secret that the Ayr Gold cup meeting is one of his favourites and he is hoping to land the spoils in the big one at huge odds of 33/1. Below you can find his racing tips for each of the races along with a preview of why he believes they have a great chance.

Ayr Gold Cup Tip

Todays Racing Tip - GLEN MOSS
Time & Track - 3.45 AYR GOLD CUP
Best Odds - 33-1 Each way 5 PLACES with most bookmakers

Preview - I've had him in mind for this race ever since he finished 3rd in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot, that was on good/soft. Since that run he's won a small 6F Class 2 race on soft ground quite easily. He has plenty of form in massive field handicaps and for me has that one criteria an Ayr Gold Cup winner needs, winning form over 7F. I've had pretty good success over the years with the likes of Regal Parade 33-1 & Loius The Pious 33-1 both came up the stands side. The quality of runner in this race has risen year on year here now to make it a group2 handicap more or less nowadays. You need to be rated over 100 to even have a chance of getting in. The negative is his drawn as those drawn in the middle don't tend to fair so well but at least he will have a choice of where to go after they get an idea of draw bias after the earlier running of the silver cup. When trying 6F on a soft surface his form figures read 2-2-3-7-4-3-1 hitting the first 4 on 6 of 7 runs 86% SR I'll take that on a 33-1 chance with 5 places.

Ayr Silver Cup Tip

Todays Racing Tip - LOIUS THE PIOUS
Time & Track - 2.35 AYR SILVER CUP
Best Odds- 33-1 Each Way 5 PLACES William Hill

Preview  - we were on him when he won this race at 33-1 in 2014 having won at Royal Ascot at 33-1 as well for us earlier in the same season. He's not quite the same horse now as an 8yo but had only 4 runs last season and 4 so far this season but in those 8 runs he's come down 14lb to make him 8lb below the mark that saw him win Gold in 2014. Since that Gold Cup win he's run in either competitve sprints or Group sprints this isn't any easier than those races but the 14lb lower mark back over a CD he's won over and has placed form on a soft surface.

Ayr Bronze Cup Tip

Todays Racing Tip - HOLIDAY MAGIC
Time & Track - 4.15 AYR
Best Odds - 40/1 each way 5 places Bet365/Paddy Power/William Hill

Preview - We did this one last week when given a poor ride in a competitive 6F sprint. Drawn low his jockey took a right hand down leaving the stalls and settled him in rear coming towards the stands side, that proved to be an error as the pace was far side(his side) and those racing furthest from the stands did best. He was still travelling on the bridle 2F out but was unable to get involved from so far back. I have always maintained to win Gold/Silver/Bronze cups you need to be a 7F horse and that's where all his wins have come. He's drawn 19 so will stick to the stands rail which hopefully will prove to be the right side.
