Monday - Day 1

Ayr 2.30 - Cymraeg bounty (1 win) 6/5 - Lost -1
3 from 3 here this year, making all in good style from Sophie P at the start of the month, staying on strongly. Has to go close again after it was declared a non runner for our tips 2 days ago. Fancies this.

Ayr 4.10 - Gabriel's star (0.5ew) 6/1 - Lost -1
Commensurate with his long losing run, the handicapper has relented and he was a creditable third behind an upwardly mobile 3-y-o at Beverley (16.2f, good to firm) latest. Conditions in his favour.

Wolverhampton 6.40 - Eljadaff (1win) 7/2 - Won +3.5
C&D winner. 4 wins from 10 runs this year. 5/1, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Kempton (6f) 26 days ago. Just 2 lb higher and another bold bid looks assured.

Windsor 6.25 - company (0.5ew) 9/2 - Lost -1
Appealing pedigree and shaped nicely when third of 12 in a 6f Newbury minor event on debut, putting in good late work without being unduly punished. Should improve.

The above 4 singles shown as each way or win and also a 0.10ew doubles and 0.10 ew fourfold. Lost -1.4

Tuesday - Day 2

Goodwood 2.35 - Bouynton (1 win) 5/2 - Lost

Winning debut here and beat war decree at newmarket. Should be a good rematch between the 2 and we favour Bouynton due to the course experience.

Goodwood 2.00 - Fire Fighting (0.5ew) 10/1 - Won +6.25
Seems to be building up to something, leaving the impression a return to his very best is around the corner in good handicaps at Ascot and York. Third off a massive weight in this last year.

Yarmouth 2.55 - we'll Shake Hands (1win) 13/8 - Won +1.65
Strong in the betting and bounced back to form to take advantage of a reduced mark at Nottingham last week and he makes plenty of appeal able to race off the same mark.

The above 3 singles shown as each way or win and also a 0.20ew trixie found in the multiples section. - Won +5.66

Wednesday - Day 3

Goodwood 3.10 - galileo gold (1 win) 9/4

- Lost 2000 Guineas hero who got in the clear too late in Irish equivalent, but redeemed himself with another high-class effort to beat The Gurkha (had lot to do) and Awtaad at Royal Ascot. Leading claims.

Redcar 4.40 - Spirit of Zebedee (1win) 2/1 - Lost
Improved when striking at Ripon (6f) this month, and duly followed up at Catterick 4 days later, again displaying a good attitude. Likely she has more to offer and hat-trick could be on the cards.

Goodwood 5.25 - pastoral player (0.5ew) 12/1 - Lost
Goes well at this track, and took advantage of a reduced mark to take this race last year. Arrives in better form this year following another C&D win last month, so has to be on the shortlist.

Sandown 6.25 - Van Huysen (0.5ew) 7/2 - Won +2.2
Resumed winning ways when taking a Chelmsford City handicap (10f) in June. Bit below form when fifth in Ascot handicap (8f) subsequently, but that was a deeper event and he has to enter calculations.

The above Shown as each way or win and also a 0.10ew doubles and 0.10ew fourfold. - Lost - 1.4

Thursday - Day 4

Goodwood 2.35 - mehmas (0.5 ew) 9/2 - Win +4.5 win only 4 runners
Impressive when winning first 2 starts before not seen to best effect at Sandown. No chance with winner in Coventry but back to winning ways in July Stakes at Newmarket. Player despite penalty and run against some better class. Dettori due a win.

Goodwood 3.10 - Pallasator (0.5ew) 8/1 Place +.5
Tends to prove troublesome in the preliminaries but is a very smart stayer, as he showed when winning Henry II at Sandown on return. Not seen to best effect next 2 starts and capable of going well.

Goodwood 3.45 - Mill Springs (0.5ew) 9/2 - Lost
Won 1¾m Ascot listed contest final start last year and improved on that form when very good third in the Ascot Stakes last month. Drop back in trip no problem and she has to be high on the shortlist.

Goodwood 5.30 - Just Glamorous (0.5ew) 7/1 - Lost
Showed wide-margin Sandown success was no fluke in competitive York sprint last week. He's only gone one way since switched to pace-forcing tactics and he should remain competitive under a penalty.

The above 4 singles shown as each way or win and also a 0.10ew doubles and 0.10ew fourfold - Place -.06

Friday - Day 5

Goodwood 2.35 - Thikryat (1 win) 11/4 - Win +2.75
Won first 3 starts, including minor event on return and listed race in May, both over 7f at Newmarket. Better than bare result when excellent second in Jersey at Royal Ascot and big player.

Goodwood 3.45 - Washington DC (0.5ew) 12/1 Place +1
Won Windsor Castle last year, and excellent efforts when third in Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and when fifth in July Cup at Newmarket last 2 starts. Back in trip now which could suit after landing the last 5f race at Navan.

Goodwood 4.20 - Monks stand (0.5ew) 16/1 - Lost
Won minor events at Lingfield (6f) and Brighton (5f) in May. Limitations exposed in pattern company since but that's not to say he can't make an impact off this mark now handicapping.

Goodwood 5.30 - Al Neksh (0.5ew) 7/1 - Lost
475,000 gns yearling who has made a most encouraging start to career, winning Haydock maiden and a Chester handicap when upped to this trip. Will go on improving. Has been gelded.

The above 4 singles shown as each way or win and also a 0.10ew doubles and 0.10ew fourfold - Place -.52

Saturday - Day 8

Newmarket 2.15 - Abingdon NAP (1 win) 15/8 - Lost
Proving most progressive in her short career to date, following up Ascot maiden win in Newbury listed event last month. Has plenty of size and scope so should continue to go forward.

Goodwood 3.10 - Swiss Range (0.5ew) 9/1 - Lost
Simply put Minding should win this but the value here is for the 2nd place money. With that in mind Swiss Range has a great chance for just that. Built on impressive Newmarket maiden success when taking step up to listed company in her stride at same venue next time. Not disgraced in French Oaks since and may have more to offer. Hood back on.

Goodwood 4.55 - Hornsby (0.5ew) 10/1 - Lost
Showed plenty at 2 and defied a year long absence when edging out Mikmak on handicap debut at Doncaster in June. Better form in defeat when third at Newmarket from 4 lb higher and now back in trip. Appleby has 2 today but we are going for Hornsby to defy the 2nd favoritism of the two.

Goodwood 2.00 - Hoof It (0.5ew) 22/1 - Win +13.75
Had dropped to his last winning mark and took advantage when scoring at Haydock (6f) on penultimate start. Good effort at Hamilton subsequently and can't be discounted.

The above 4 singles shown as each way or win and also a 0.10ew doubles and 0.10ew fourfold - Lost -1.4

Sunday - Day 7

Chester 2.10 - Devils Bridge NAP (1 win) 4/6 - Lost
Promising type. Best effort when second of 14 in maiden at Newbury (7f, good to firm) 16 days ago, no match for winner. Hard to beat.

Chester 4.25 - Super Julius (1win) 2/1 - Lost
Speedily bred individual who improved when landing a 5f minor event here in June. Creditable sixth in big-field Super Sprint at Newbury subsequently.

Chester 5.25 - Nietszche (0.5ew) 9/1 - NR
Won back-to-back handicaps in April and has been far from disgraced in defeat since, latest when seventh in handicap at Royal Ascot (12f) last month. will find this tough but good price to end our week for places.

The above 3 singles shown as each way or win and also a 0.20ew trixie - Lost
