Hull City vs Man Utd Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

It’s been three wins from three for a Hull side expected to struggle after their midweek win over Exeter. United themselves have won both of their games in comfortable fashion and this will be a big challenge for City. Below is our match preview, prediction and betting tips.

Game: Hull City vs Man Utd
Venue: KC Stadium
Kick off: Saturday 27th August, 5.30pm

Hull’s spirited performance on the opening day of the season came as a surprise to many given the list on injury and also events going on behind the scenes. Everyone expecting Hull to struggle through their early season fixtures, but they’ve now won three from three.

A 2-1 win over Leicester was followed by a 2-0 win at Swansea. They’ve rode their luck in both because neither side was clinical. Swansea especially did enough to score three or four goals but didn’t take their chances. Hull rounded off a superb 10 days when coming from behind to beat Exeter 3-1.

United themselves have produced a 3-1 win over Bournemouth and a 2-0 score line against Southampton and they’ll provide a far stiffer test for Hull. We’ve already seen that United under Mourinho could be extremely clinical and there’s still room for improvement.

Hull haven’t won any of their previous eight games against United, losing seven and drawing one. The 0-0 draw last season was a far cry from the previous dominance we saw from United in the fixture, but I’d expect this group of players to get back to exactly that.

Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Hull City are big outsiders at a price of 36/5 with Betfair, whilst the draw is available at 3/1 also with Betfair. United are 1/2 best odds with Betfred.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given United fans plenty to be excited about. The big Swede has four goals in his first four competitive games for United and the addition of Pogba is only going to increase the amount of opportunities United will create going forward.

Hull will have to rely on a repeat performance against Swansea, where they crowded the box and got behind the ball for nearly all of the 90 minutes. Hull’s only two attacks of the game produced two goals but in truth they still could have conceded at least three goals. Swansea broke them down over and over again but their finishing was extremely poor.

One chance for Zlatan usually means one goal for Zlatan, so they home side have to be very disciplined and organised here. I do think that at some point this current list of injury will catch up with Hull but they’re bound to be confidence after three wins to start the season.

I think as well as Hull have done so far this is a big step up and a tough, tough ask. I can’t see past United winning here even if it could be a struggle against a wall of orange at time. However, I’m so comfortable with the idea of United winning this, I’m happy to risk the -1AH anyway at a price of 9/11 with Bet Victor.

I’ll say the same thing I’ve said in all of my previous so far. Zlatan is just too good a player to expect not to score. Back Zlatan to make it five in five at best odds of 21/20 with Stan James.

We’ve had two correct score casts so far on the United games this season and we’re going for a happy hat-trick here. I predict Manchester United will win 2-0 here after a frustrating first half. You can bet on that at odds 6/1 with Bet Victor
