Players Championship 2017 Golf Betting Tips & Preview

Last weeks was a little frustrating with the European Tour featuring their new format of Golf sixes which I have to say I couldn't watch, as hard as I tried to make myself watch it it just didn't seem to flow right for me. I'm sure the Tour consider it a success as the players seemed to enjoy it and I'm sure we'll be seeing it again but for me it wasn't anywhere near as good as the team event on the PGA Tour the week before in New Orleans.

As for the Wells Fargo Championship Eagle Farm making its return after 40 years off the play list looked a superb golf course which challenged everyone with 2 of my betting tips missing the cut by 1 shot and the other tip Phil Mickleson unable to master the 9th hole it was a disappointing week. Phil finished T18th 6 shots off the winner yet played the 9th in 5 over par with 2 doubles a bogey and a par but yet the rest of his game was pretty decent holing some very lengthy putts and driving the ball much better than he has done of late.

This week we have no betting tips on the European Tour but we do have the Players Championship from TPC Sawgrass on the PGA Tour, probably my favourite course bar Augusta, that iconic 17th hole Par 3 is just the best hole in golf for me, a real test of nerve come Sunday when you're challenging for the lead and you need to hit the island par 3 you just can't beat it. There'll probably be over 50 balls in the water over the

week its that difficult.

My Betting tips for the Players Championship this week are..

SERGIO GARCIA 18-1 1PT ew 7 places Skybet
He's not played since winning the Master just over a month ago but hes made a fantastic career for himself with 30 career wins world wide including 10 on the PGA Tour. He's made 271 cuts from 313 starts with 95 top 10 finishes on top of his 10 wins 15 2nds 11 3rds and over $46m earnt so far. He's only played 3 times on PGA this year with a 12th-9th and a win, he's played well here several times so there's no reason to believe he won't be in contention yet again. Now ranked 6th in the World he's getting better with age!!

FRANCESCO MOLINARI 50-1 1pt ew 8 places Paddypower
Ranked 34th in the World he's made 79 cuts from his 99 starts with 14 Top 10 finishes but yet to win. What a greeat time to get your first win on your 100th start and in such a great tournament. In 2016 he had 3 Top 10 finishes with T7th here in Players, T8th Quicken Loans and a T9th Arnold Palmer so far in 2017 he's been pretty consistant and although falling away last week to finish T24th he led after day 1. His 2017 finishes show he plays these American courses well with 6-4-6-12-14-cut-14-20-7-58-33- 22-24 and looking back through his scoring he seems to have that one bad round that costs him last week it was his 4th round 75 yet in the Masters it was day 1 with a 78.

DANIEL BERGER 80-1 1pt ew 7Places StanJames
Only played 72 events on tour so far made 51 cuts earnt $8.1m with 1 career win and 3 2nds. Best finishes in 2017 2nd in HSBC World Golf Championship, 5th Shell Houston Open and 7th Waste Management. He finished 36th last week with 4 consistent rounds of 71-72-72-72. He needs to avoid bunkers as he's 196th ranked for sands saves!!

JIMMY WALKER 100-1 1pt ew 8places Paddypower
One of the best players in the world when on fire, had health problems of late which has affected his ability to play 4 rounds of golf but hopefully all sorted now. He has 6 career wins winning over $22m from 276 starts. After missing a few cuts at the start of the year he's now back on track with a good 18th finish in the MAsters and 13th in the Valero Texas Open. If he having a good week health wise then 100-1 is huge!!

KEVIN STREELMAN 1pt ew 300-1 8 places PaddyPower
An underrated player who has 2 career wins and 30 Top 10 finishes from 263 starts. Not had a great season so far with his best finish a T4th at Mayakoba OHL Classic and 14th at Pebble Beach. His nemisis so far this season has been his first round, hopefully ha can get off to a better start and get some confidence going forward.

ALEX CEJKA 500-1 1pt ew 7 places Coral
12 career wins but only 1 on the PGA ranked 196th in the World the German is another to have made a great career for themselves in America winning over $11m from 343 starts.Best finish in 2017 T14th at Valspar Championship, he withdrew last week after carding a 72 opening round and week before partnered Soren Kedjelsen in the team event although they finished 24th they played really well for the first 3 days with Alex the driving force behind their 2nd round 62. Last yera he finished T9th after carding opening rounds of 67 before 72-74 on the weekend. in 2015 he finished 74th having started with a 69 on day he fell away on Saturday Sunday carding 78-79 but 500-1 worth a small interest particularly if he has a good opening round.

TOP 10 Finish betting tips:

JIMMY WALKER 11-1 1pt win only
ALEX CEJKA 40-1 1pt win only
KEVIN STREELMAN 28-1 1pt win only

15pts staked in total for the 2017 Players Championship
