Today's Free Horse Racing Tips August 13th

3.00 1m6f Class 5 Handicap - Olympic Odyssey 3/1 888sport

Won his first race last year after being gelded in the spring and nearly followed up a week later but was given far too much to do and wasn’t entirely straight forward and missed out by just a head to a well handicapped Airplane who was rated 13lbs higher just a few runs later, that was Olympic Odyssey’s last race on the flat and for George Scott before moving to Harry Fry in the winter, 3 unsuccessful tries later over hurdles has Harry Fry trying a wind operation and reverting him back to the flat where on form has him looking very well handicapped. The step up in trip also looks a big plus on his last flat run and the jockey booking of Oisin Murphy is very eye catching, it’s the first time Harry Fry reaches out for him and Oisin is not only having a good season but is in great current form too with 10 winners in the last week a near 25% strike rate, he also has a great record at Nottingham and boats a +£36.17 LSP the last 5 seasons.

4.30 6f Class 6 Handicap - Soaring Spirits 20/1 888sport

Robert Havlin taking over the reins on Soaring Spirits for the first time is eye catching, he’s back down in trip and is 5lbs under his last winning mark on the flat, a further 9lbs under last winning mark over this C&D which was over 2 years ago but hasn’t ran here since then. Trainer Dean Ivory has been one to follow blind this season with a sensational +£111.33 level stake profit mainly acquired on the turf, he already has 5 wins at Nottingham at a sweet 36% strike rate to add to his career +£53.75 LSP at the course which is great if betting on horse racing. Obvious danger Ugo Gregory will be tough to beat after last weeks impressive win over this C&D, that was in a tougher 0-75 race and drops in a easier 0-65 here, he does have a 6lb penalty to contend with but if coming out of the race well and running up to last weeks run he’ll be hard to beat.

7.15 7f Class 6 Handicap - Me Cool Cash 11/1 888sport

A little tough following trainer John Davies’s chances this season, but hard to pass on Mr Cool Cash who is unbelievably well handicapped and made a promising return to form when last seen last month, he was under a length away in 3rd and was a pound out of the handicap, that was his 3rd start for John Davies after moving from Richard Guest late last year and is now a huge 20lbs under his last winning mark which was recorded over 2 years ago but now coming back to some kind of form, he could easily build on his last run and also runs off his true mark today. Sam James is back in the saddle after riding his last 3 runs, he’s having a good season and in great current form, they do team up in the widest draw in 17 but he’s a hold up horse and when the grounds testing like it is at present they’ll aim to come up the stands rail where the ground is usually better, so the high draw in a big field isn’t the worst place to be and he’ll thrive on the underfoot conditions
