Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Todays Racing Tip – THOMAS PATRICK
Time & Track – 3.00 Newbury (01/12)
Best Odds – 7/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 2pt win
Analysis – Very likeable front-runner who if handed a soft lead may well put his field to the sword with his slick jumping in the hands of Richard Johnson. He won here on soft ground in March before another good win at Aintree in a Grade 3, again with give in the ground. Just got caught at Sandown by the re-opposing Elegant Escape when maybe not getting up the hill and this flatter track accompanied by the weight he’s getting from that rival should see the terms reversed here. Tom Lacey’s yard are in great form and a big run can be expected.

Todays Racing Tip – KAYF ADVENTURE
Time & Track – 1.20 Newbury (01/12)
Best Odds – 5/1 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Won a couple of heavy ground chases last season, one of which was in this grade from a 4lb lower mark at Wincanton. He was a staying on seventh in the Close Brothers at the festival over 2m4f and ended last campaign with a second over the same trip here a fortnight later. The step up to the extended 2m6f should suit the seven-year old and the rain they’ve had plays to his strengths more so, goes here with a decent chance you’d have thought.

Todays Racing Tip – MONT DES AVALOIRS
Time & Track – 2.25 Newbury (01/12)
Best Odds – 13/2 @ Unibet
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – This five-year old returns to hurdling after finishing second on chase debut in October and has the potential to go well off this mark. He was well held by Global Citizen at Kempton but that came on good ground and his best efforts have been with cut in the surface. The form of his third in the Tolworth has worked out really well with Summerville Boy and Kalashnikov both winning graded races since. He was three-lengths behind Ballymoy at Sandown but there’s an 8lb pull in the weights and on those bits of evidence he may well be overpriced on just his second handicap start.

Todays Racing Tip – FOREST BIHAN
Time & Track – 3.35 Newbury (01/12)
Best Odds – 15/2 @ Bet365
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Has run some really nice races over fences in the past couple of seasons, notably when second in a Grade 1 at Aintree beaten a head as well as winning a Grade 2 at Doncaster both last year. Is 4lb lower than when beating Simply Ned at Kelso over 2m1f and he ran well on reappearance at Cheltenham when third in the Shloer Chase. Has won with gove in the ground and could make the long trip down from North Yorkshire a successful one.

Todays Racing Tip – BIG RIVER
Time & Track – 3.20 Newcastle (01/12)
Best Odds – 6/1 @ Betfred
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Has a good record over fences 1-P-3-1-2 with his best effort coming when beating Shantou Flyer at Kelso from a 2lb lower mark two runs back. Hasn’t been seen since finishing second at Uttoxeter when conceding plenty of weight all round and his record fresh is good having won three times and finished second the other two. He was beaten by half-a-length by Brain Power on his only previous visit to the track and the testing conditions will suit. Blair Campbell is 1/1 on the horse and claims a handy 5lb.

Todays Racing Tip – SOLSTICE TWILIGHT
Time & Track – 3.10 Bangor-on-Dee (01/12)
Best Odds – 5/1 @ Blacktype
Stake – 1pt win
Analysis – Ran her best race when ended last campaign with a fair third at Exeter over this 2m7f trip and wasn’t totally disgraced on reappearance at Fontwell a fortnight ago over a shorter trip. She’s dropped 4lb from her opening mark and Rex Dingle claims a further 7lb and potential remains back up in trip in a race that won’t take much winning.
