Analysis – Disappointed on chase debut when pulled-up but was much better next time out at Kempton when third and again jumped well the last day at Newbury, despite slightly right at times, from the front before being swallowed up and going this way round again should help. The handicapper has dropped him a couple of pounds on each start and this looks less competitive on paper, he’s partnered by the talented Jonjo O’Neill Jnr who’s well worth his 5lb claim and his only previous outing on good ground resulted in a novice hurdle victory, so I’d be hopeful of a solid run.

Analysis – A hard one to catch right and more often than not you’ll know from an early stage if he’s on a going day but a chance is taken given the fact he won this race last year from the same mark of 108 under Harry Cobden, who is in the saddle again this time around. He put a few bad performances behind him when beaten half-a-length at Fontwell in January (from 2lb higher) and arrives here on the back of two bad runs but is more than capable on his day to be winning this, he’s a three-time course winner and although best efforts have come on soft ground he has won on a quicker terrain before. I’m hoping the risk pays off and that he at least puts up a bold show from a prominent position.

Analysis – Has ran well on all four career starts most notably when a four-length third behind the now 146-rated Birchdale (two in front and a couple behind have won since) and the bottomless ground at Sandown for handicap debut was a good excuse for the fifteen-length losing margin, though was still third. The form of that has some substance too and back on better ground from a pound lower should see this five-year in a better light.

Analysis – Returns to hurdling after a first-fence blunder at Uttoxeter and would need to forget her last hurdling start when comfortably held but prior to that this seven-year old had finished a more than respectable fourth in a competitive race at Aintree won by future Grade 2 winner Midnight Shadow along with County Hurdle winner Ch’tibello in second. That form is easily the best on offer in this much weaker race and she’s shaped as though this longer trip would suit and the drying ground is in favour having bolted up in a novice event at Huntingdon at the end of last season.
