Analysis – The William Haggas yard have been in good form recently with six winners in the past week or so (30% strike-rate) and they have another good chance here with this three-year old (have won this race twice in recent years). All of his three wins so far in his short career have come over this 6f trip and each time have had the word ‘soft’ in the going description. The latest came on penultimate start at Leicester off a 5lb lower mark and though behind Dazzling Dan the last day he re-opposes on 6lb better terms and the form of that race has taken several boosts including the the second, Oxted, who won the Portland at Doncaster recently. This gelding is a pound lower than beaten two-and-a-half lengths that day on good ground so the return to a softer terrain should suit and he’s still open to progress, only previous visit to Ascot resulted in a length second over C&D.
