Analysis – Was large odds for maiden/novice events when beaten comfortably in those three runs though was staying on over 2m1f in the last of those and made a very encouraging handicap debut over C&D last month when beaten just under three-lengths in 2nd. She’s open to any amount of improvement on second outing in this sphere and with yard still in relatively good form I’d be surprised if she doesn’t run a nice race in the hands of talented 8lb-claimer Danny McMenamin.

Analysis – Despite not winning over fences since his debut success, he’s ran some nice races since from higher marks, including when beaten a neck at Sandown in this grade from 5lb higher and has began to slide down the weights again. He jumped slickly the last day at that same venue in a higher grade before weakening between the last two fences and if finding a bit more here then I think he’s got a good chance with conditions in favour.

Analysis – This eleven-year old needs to be forgiven his last two runs but if back to the form he showed around this time last year he should be on the premises. He was 2nd in this race last year and arrives here 2lb lower, a mark in which he has won off over hurdles and one that is only a pound higher than when last successful over fences. All four wins have come in soft/heavy ground so conditions will suit and if it becomes a stamina test he’ll be the one staying on having finished a good 2nd at Hexham over 4m. Derek Fox is back in the saddle and has got on well with this gelding in the past, form figures 5-1-2-2 from four mounts. As said, comes with risks but this may have been his target and can go well if fully wound up.
