Analysis - Needs to be forgiven his reappearance run at Cheltenham just under two weeks ago when pulled up but that came in a more competitive race than this and this gelding never seems to go well fresh. This is his second run after a wind op and with the cobwebs hopefully blown away the drop in grade from a 2lb lower mark could see the seven-year old in a much better light. Katy Price is 2/5 with her chasers at this course and Bryan Carver, who can claim 3lb, looks a strong booking in this race for conditionals. He rattled up a quick double in November last year (not seen since until that return 12 days ago) including when winning over C&D by seven-lengths and he’s only a pound higher than the second of those wins so if back to his best he’s got a good chance.

Analysis - This five-year old makes his handicap debut after some fairly encouraging runs in novice/maiden hurdles and should be the type to improve now in this sphere. He was a good second in an Exeter bumper last December and made a good start on hurdling debut when third over the extended 2m3f at this course when travelling well throughout until the approach to the final flight when weakening. The step up in trip is likely to suit based on that and breeding and a reappearance third at Worcester (form which has been franked since) at the back end of September would have got his fitness up, Tom Scudamore back in the saddle is a positive.
