Analysis – This very-lightly raced and unexposed three-year old makes just his third handicap start. He ran three very good races in maiden/novice events last season and after being gelded over the winter he returned with a C&D win on handicap debut on his penultimate start in class 3 company before finishing a fair fifth stepped up into this grade the last day at Newmarket. He went off favourite that day and after slight interference leaving the stalls he travelled like the best horse in the race before starting to stay on, so the return to this stiffer track could see him resume his progress off an unchanged mark.

Analysis – Has only recorded one win since arriving from France and is now 9lb higher than that but if able to run to the same level as three of his last four runs in which he’s been narrowly beaten then he holds solid claims. His most recent effort was probably the best he’s shown so far, when third in a big-field handicap at York’s Ebor festival over the extended 5f. He’s back to the bare minimum here but the softer ground will suit having won on this terrain when over in France and with him arriving in such good form then he’s sure to run a big race for a yard who remain in good form.
