Analysis – Drawn in the plum draw over the minimum five-furlongs on the Roodee, this three year old has only failed to win once from four starts. Two of his wins have come on the all-weather so the rain forecast shouldn’t be a problem on that evidence (Kempton was standard/slow) and this colt made a winning turf debut at Newmarket on handicap debut (the third was beaten a nose in a listed event since). Up 6lb but he’s one they clearly like at home and must have strong claims with him holding a Group 1 entry at the Royal meeting.

Analysis – Won over this trip at Leicester at the beginning of April and stepped up when very unlucky in the Sandown Classic Trial almost a fortnight ago in a race won by Bangkok. This colt didn’t have a clear run but when he did get out he was staying on strongly through the line and the step back up a couple of furlongs will suit and I think he’ll handle softer ground if it turns testing, Frankie Dettori is a good booking for this Derby entrant.

Analysis – Was short-headed in this race back in 2017 and is 2lb lower this time round. That was the only time he’s ran over this 7f trip so is very unexposed and comes here off the back of a fair fifth on reappearance at Ripon in a 0-105, dropped down into 0-85 company and Sean Davis claims a very handy 5lb and to add to that this six-year old is back on a winning mark and handles most ground so must have a good chance from a nice drawn. Trainer Richard Fahey has won this race three times in the last seven runnings.
