Analysis - Was successful off this mark of 71 on Lingfield’s polytrack in September over this mile trip and his return from 147-days off was promising when beaten a length in a slightly better race than this at Chelmsford a week ago, his first run since being gelded. This five-year old has only won three times so far though one of those came from a pound higher and this quicker ground will play to his strengths with best efforts coming on good-to-firm. He’s Paul Cole’s only runner on the card and I’d be disappointed if he’s not involved in the finish from an ok draw.

Analysis - Third in a higher grade at Warwick over a marathon trip in soft ground and the return to 3m on better ground can see him go closer on a workable mark. He is still 7lb higher than for his last win but twice went close before a lengthy absence off marks higher than this and arrives in form having gone very close on his penultimate start, again at Warwick. He’s a C&D winner who was also beaten by a neck on his other completion here so the return to this course will suit and this is less competitive than recent engagements.

Analysis - Ran well on rules debut when third behind a couple have franked the form well and though well beaten in next two starts he was running a big race on handicap debut when unseating at the third last in a race won by Eur Gone West who bolted up next time out. He’s dropped slightly in trip which should be fine having won his sole point-to-point over a similar trip, his trainer has been in good form lately and with a clear round this six-year old may be the answer in the hands of Richard Johnson.
