Analysis - Strung together some very poor efforts in the latter stages of his time at Tom Weston’s yard but has shown glimpses on both starts for his new yard since returning after a summer break. He fell at the last when favourite at Stratford, a couple of lengths down but still staying on over 2m5f before a better effort when beaten just under three-lengths at Exeter over this 3m trip. He’s sitting on a 15lb lower mark then for his highest winning perch and is certainly capable of winning off this mark if putting his best foot forward. Trip and ground fine and though 0-3 at Warwick he’s ran two nice races in defeat against better opposition, including a listed chase won by Ms Parfois.

Analysis - This five-year old has a good record at this course with form figures 2-2-1-1 and those defeats were by a neck and a length (all in maiden/novice hurdles). He’s only had the one handicap start so far so is very unexposed in this sphere and that was a solid run from a 2lb higher mark in a competitive Sandown race when finishing eight-lengths back in sixth with the winner Getaway Trump rated 155. He returned to action with a last of seven finish in listed company but may have just needed the run and it came at the time when Paul Nicholls’ horses just weren’t right. First-time cheekpieces are applied and I think we can see him in a better light on this second outing of the season. Jaytrack Parkhomes is another that caught my eye, looks capable of going well of his current mark.
