Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Todays Racing Tip – BATTLEOVERDOYEN
Time & Track – 1.30 Cheltenham (13/03)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – An interesting opener on day two with the impressive Champ looking to land a five-timer and follow up his impressive Challow Hurdle success at Newbury over Christmas but I’m siding with Gordon Elliott to gain his first winner of this year’s festival with his ultra-smart gelding Battleoverdoyen. He fairly bolted up on hurdling debut at Navan and stepped up on that with a Grade 1 novice win at Naas the last day when conceding 3lb to the second Sam’s Profile and the pair meet on level terms this time so I’d expect him to confirm that form. He went through the soft ground so well in that opening win so will relish the conditions and for me looks the one to beat. Brewin’upastorm is one who has an outside chance having looked the winner when falling at the last in a Grade 2 here on trials day and at a price Jarveys Plate could well outrun his odds based on his listed win here on New Year’s Day. 1. Battleoverdoyen, 2. Champ, 3. Brewin’upastorm.

Todays Racing Tip – TOPOFTHEGAME
Time & Track – 2.10 Cheltenham (13/03)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Delta Work brings some very smart form to the table here and you’d have to say he’s a worthy favourite and Santini will appreciate this stamina test but I think Topofthegame might well be the answer on the back of a very good 2nd behind La Bague Au Roi at Kempton. He was just held up the running but was conceding weight to the mare and that looks good form with the winner landing a Grade 1 in Leopardstown since. He gave the field a 20-length head-start on chase debut at Exeter but only managed to be beaten by just over three-lengths. He won’t mind the soft ground, trainer is in good form and has festival form having gone down by a neck in the Coral Cup last year. 1. Topofthegame, 2. Delta Work, 3. Santini.

Todays Racing Tip – BALLYANDY
Time & Track – 2.50 Cheltenham(13/03)
Best Odds – 22/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – The Coral Cup yet again is a migraine waiting to happen looking through the runners. Uradel looks far too short for me especially given the fact that there’s not been a winning favourite in this race for over a decade. Killultagh Vic could go well and there’s every suspicion that Tully East has been laid out for this looking at his prep for the race but it’s a former Champion Bumper winner who gets my vote, in Ballyandy for the Twiston-Davies operation. He travelled like a dream at Ascot last month over a shorter trip before getting outpaced over the last and from the same mark, up in trip could see him play a leading role. The rain has come at the right time for the eight-year old and adding to that Bumper win he was also a solid 4th in the Supreme the following year. It’s hard to hold much hope in a race like this but I’d be disappointed if he doesn’t run any sort of race. 1. Ballyandy, 2. Tully East, 3. Uradel.

Todays Racing Tip – ENVOI ALLEN
Time & Track – 5.30 Cheltenham (13/03)
Best Odds – 4/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Not my most favoured race of the week but I think Gordon Elliott’s five-year old looks a very smart horse who is unbeaten in three starts under rules with a point-to-point success to add to his CV. He kept on well up the running the last day when giving weight and a beating to a few who reoppose and this softer ground is likely to suit even better than the good ground he’s been winning on. Blue Sari is an obvious threat along with Sempo and Ask For Glory who both won well the last day. 1. Envoi Allen, 2. Sempo, 3. Blue Sari.

Result – Won +4
