Analysis – This four-year old has a good record here over the past year, in which he has accumulated three wins from five starts (twice over this trip). The latest of those came back in June from 10lb lower but he has since won from a 3lb lower mark, the last day at York and with Rowan Scott claiming his usual 3lb this gelding still looks capable of winning. The forecast rain will aid his cause too having won twice before with some cut in the ground and this in-form son of Arcano should put in a bold show from a nice draw.

Analysis – Won on his penultimate start from a 3lb lower mark at Ffos Las back in April over a similar trip to this and he can be excused his most recent run after a short-break as he’s never got 3m. The drop in trip will suit and with the ground more than likely going to turn soft there’s no better horse in the field to cope with the underfoot conditions with four of his five victories coming with soft in the going description. Peter Bowen’s yard remain in good form despite the lack of jump racing recently (33% strike-rate in the past fortnight).
