Analysis – This six-year old has won twelve times at a 28% strike-rate and all those victories have come over this five-furlong trip. He’s done most of his winning on ground with soft in the going description so will enjoy the conditions and is still sitting on a 9lb lower mark than for a victory in a higher grade at Ripon just over two years ago. The drop back in class is interesting having won his last two goes in this grade (both at Nottingham – a course in which he’s entered at on Wednesday) which makes it interesting that his trainer is sending this horse up from Staffordshire for this. He’s got Joe Fanning back in the saddle which is a positive as he’s four times a winner on this gelding and I think he can go close off this mark.
