Analysis – Has some decent Festival form when 6th in the Albert Bartlett in 2015, then ran well here in Grade 2 company in Jan 2017 when 5th to Unowhatimeanarry, not been in same kind of form this season though did run well here earlier in the season when 8L 4th to Arthurs Gift when leading dropped right away and finished off best of all but hasn’t built on that since. He was very poor in Ireland behind Total Recall but was slightly better last time ay Haydock when 6th to Tommy Rapper. If the race is run to suit and he doesn’t have to do the donkey work then he could well make the frame at least.

Analysis – Finished 11th to Presenting Percy in last years renewal off the same mark as today. He has 2 stand out pieces of form from this season but both are at Haydock. His 3rd of 16 to Sam Spinner fav for the stayers hurdle only getting 2lb now looks terrific form and last time out in the same race Shantou Bob ran in he was a head 2nd to Tommy Rapper. Winning does seem to be his problem as he’s won 3/20 but has 10 2nd and 3rds so he looks a solid bet to get placed at very least.

Analysis – My idea of the winner and possibly the best bet of the day. Gutted I missed the 33-1 but at 25-1 this CD winner from Jan 2016 runs off the same mark of 139 here that he won that race off. His form so far this season ha been consistant with out winning and his 3rd to Frodon last time out was a decent run.He’s finished in the first 3 on 12 of his 15 runs with a 4th in a novice hurdle a fall at Cheltenham off 147 again behind Frodon when travelling really well and his only poor run when 14th in this race last year.That was run on good ground and by far his worst run and in fact his 2 other times down to run on good ground both times a NR due to ground. ALL other runs on soft or heavy so these conditions will suit him much better than last year and for me he looks the EW bet of the day.

Analysis – Another Tizzard runner who had wind surgery but he has run since then but pulled up at Sandown over 3m. He made a bad mistake that day that took him out of the race he has tongue tie and first time blinkers on here and is another that if he bounced back to form could run well at a massive price.

Analysis – Aubusson ahs become frustrating over fences. A decent hurdler who we were on over the X Country fences earlie in the year when Lizzie Kelly lost her irons. Has been running well with out getting his head in front but the conditions of this race might just suit him. Providing there isn’t an Irish runner 10lb well in he should be involved if jumping round another solid looking ew bet.

Analysis – Had wind surgery since his last run but has been very disappointing so far thus season. Won here over 3m3 in Nov 2016 but not shown anything since then that was of 148 today runs of 147. If the WS has made a difference he could be over priced at 40-1.

Analysis – An old fav of mine who won me a lot of money when winning here over hurdles in 2012, he runs his best races when able to bowl along in front but thats a tac tic that doesn’t seem to work here at the Festival, maybe the 12yo would prefer a hold up ride nowadays but he’s worth a few quid ew at 40-1 as his mark is now starting to fall now 4lb below his last winning mark.
