Tipsters Review - March 15, 2019

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Todays Racing Tip – LISNAGAR OSCAR
Time & Track – 2.50 Cheltenham (15/03)
Best Odds – 13/2 @ Bet365

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – A race that requires a natural stayer usually to win this and there’s a few in here who hold decent claims. Birchdale was fortunate to win over 2m4f here last time out and I’m not so sure he’s certain to appreciate this stamina test just yet. Commander Of Fleet and Rhinestone are closely matched on their recent Grade 1 encounter whilst Allaho was well backed when winning a Grade 3 on first attempt at 3m. I’m quite sweet on Dinons running a good race having won with any amount in hand in five consecutive outings this season and was in the process of running a big race in a Grade 3 when badly hampered and immediately eased down but I think Lisnagar Oscar may just be a stronger stayer in this field. He was a good staying on second over C&D in December and after winning over 2m4f at Chepstow he stepped up considerably when sauntering clear in a Haydock Grade 2 last month. He’ll appreciate this test of stamina being a son of Oscar and I think the ground won’t be too much of an issue. 1. Lisnagar Oscar, 2. Dinons, 3. Allaho

Todays Racing Tip – KEMBOY
Time & Track – 3.30 Cheltenham (15/03)
Best Odds – 11/1 @ Betfair

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – The blue-ribbon event of the week and a tricky puzzle to solve. Last year’s winner Native River would have every chance if arriving in the same form but I think it’ll be hard to come back and win again. Presenting Percy is clearly well regarded and may well be hard to beat coming here having won at back-to-back festivals and he couldn’t have been more impressive in the RSA, my only concern would be that he’s not had a chase start this season (though that may not be a big issue). Clan Des Obeaux is another with a clear form chance but I’m taking them all on with Kemboy at a bit of a price. He was very good in the Grade 1 Savills Chase over Christmas, showing a nice turn of foot and he’d previously won a Grade 2 over 2m4f, he’s won on both good and soft ground and if able to cruise into the race turning for home I’d be quietly confident that he’d be right there as he’s got the speed. 1. Kemboy, 2. Presenting Percy, 3. Clan Des Obeaux.

Todays Racing Tip – MIND’S EYE
Time & Track – 4.50 Cheltenham (15/03)
Best Odds – 10/1 @ William Hill

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – A tricky puzzle to solve for the final chase of the festival and Paul Nicholls holds a few aces with last year’s winner Le Prezien only a pound higher than for that success, the unexposed Magic Saint on the back of a decent Wincanton win and Brelan D’As who brings some good form to the table including a sound fifth here behind Brown Plate 1st & 2nd Siruh Du Lac and Janika. I’m keen on Mind’s Eye in the hands of Rachel Blackmore however. He’s ran well in a couple of graded races behind Le Richebourg (over 2m1f) and that same rival as well as Delta Work (over 2m4f when possibly not staying). He made an encouraging handicap debut when fourth and all those runs have come on good ground so with further progress likely in this sphere and back on more suitable ground (has done all his winning on soft ground) he looks a nice price. 1. Mind’s Eye, 2. Le Prezien, 3. Brelan D’As.
