Tipsters Review - April 23, 2019

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Todays Racing Tip – ARCTIC SOUND
Time & Track – 2.25 Newmarket (16/04)
Best Odds – 13/2 @ Coral

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Notched up a fine strike-rate in his two-year old campaign, winning four times from six outings. His last two wins were notably the best, firstly in a class 2 handicap at Doncaster with future listed winner Fanaar in second before going on to Group 3 glory when striking over track and trip at the end of September (both over this 7f trip) and that form was boosted with Bye Bye Hong Kong winning last week. Connections feel he’ll get further in time having stayed on well the last twice and the yard’s other runner Victory Command, a confirmed front-runner, may well be placed here to set this up for James Doyle’s mount.

Todays Racing Tip – KICK ON
Time & Track – 3.00 Newmarket (16/04)
Best Odds – 7/2 @ Bet365

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Shaped with promise on the July course here on debut when second in a maiden over 7f, staying on well at the finish and went one better switched to this Rowley Mile track at the end of September with a comfortable two-and-a-half length victory. That race has worked out well in regards winners coming out of it with no less than nine of them scoring subsequently. He was far from disgraced in a Group 1 at Doncaster when again staying on well in sixth and although Western Australia was ahead of him that day I feel the extra furlong will suit John Gosden’s colt and he’s less exposed than that rival. He’s bred to appreciate this quicker ground and his trainer has won this twice in the past four years so I’m hoping this 2000 Guineas and Dante entrant can add to that record.

Result – Won +3.5

Todays Racing Tip – MAIN EDITION
Time & Track – 3.35 Newmarket (16/04)
Best Odds – 7/2 @ Bet365

Stake – 1pt win

Analysis – Three times a winner over 6f including the Albany Stakes at last year’s Royal Ascot when beating future Group 1 winner Le Pelosa and won on first go at this 7f trip on the July course when beating that same rival. She was a good third over C&D when last seen behind a leading fancy in the 1000 Guineas (finished ahead of her before that) and with that race a target for this filly you’d be hopeful that she’ll go very close on seasonal reappearance with Ryan Moore in the saddle (won on her on debut)
