Analysis – This four-year old was down the field in a decent handicap at Bath on Sunday but he can be forgiven that as that was a tougher task than this. He’d previously notched up a hat-trick of 5f wins and was improving at a good rate prior to that outing a couple of days ago. He takes a step back up to 6f despite a couple of underwhelming efforts over that trip last year, though the way he won from well off the pace at Bath on his penultimate start would suggest it’s worth another go and he did win a 6f novice at Wolverhampton on debut as a two-year old. It’s interesting that connections are running him again so quickly and the booking of Jamie Spencer catches the eye and hopefully he can do what he does best and just nurse this gelding into the race before going clear late on.
