Analysis - He needs to be forgiven his recent run at Chepstow when pulled-up but if reproducing his second placed effort prior to that then he’d have a chance in this. He’s only a pound higher than for that Sedgefield run when caught late on and he’s unexposed at this trip. His trainer Warren Greatrex sends this runner up from Berkshire so that may be a tip in itself and if putting his best foot forward I can see him winning this with conditions not seemingly being an issue.

Analysis - Despite beaten fifteen-lengths the last day at Kelso I still think he ran a solid race carrying top-weight over 3m2f, where he looked the winner up until two out before failing to get home so the drop back to the extended 2m5f looks the right move. He’s a three-time course winner and he handles the heavy ground and this mark of 114 is still within the eleven-year old’s range with his jockey able to claim 5lb again (couldn’t last time as it was an amateur riders race). There’s a few in here with a chance with the obvious one being Aloomomo who won well last week but that rival has a 7lb penalty now and his form can be in and out, so I’m happy to take him on with this horse.
