Todays Racing Tip – BURNT SUGAR
Time & Track – 4.35 BEVERLEY
Best Odds – 14/1

Analysis – Formerly a top class sprinter rated 112 and spending his winters running at Meydan. Didn’t show his true ability last summer and slumped to a mark of 93 when last seen in November at Kempton. Since then he’s been gelded in January and more recently changed stables from R.Hannon to Roger Fell just a week ago. He runs here off just 91 which should give him a great chance of getting season off to a flier.

Todays Racing Tip – FOURTH ACT
Time & Track – 3.50 CHELTENHAM
Best Odds – 10/1

Analysis – He’s won 3 of his 21 career races though none beyond 2m5, so todays trip of 3m4 might look beyond him but I liked the way he ran here over 3m31/2F back in November of last year when a 5L 4th of 17 off an 8lb higher mark than todays. that showed these extreme distances are within his remit and as that was a Class 1 race this Class 3 looks more like his level.

Todays Racing Tip – BARON DU PLESSIS
Time & Track – 4.25 CHELTENHAM
Best Odds – 9/1

Analysis – He’s yet to win a race but has twice finished 2nd once a 3m PTP the other in a 2m5 h’cap hurdle at Warwick. He’s been very well fancied in the market on all his last 4 runs which suggests that more is expected of him than he’s actually achieving. For a Class 3mile h’cap at Cheltenham its not that hot a race as none of the runners ahs won a race in there last 5 runs.

Todays Racing Tip – NEWSTEAD ABBEY (NAP)
Time & Track – 7.15 WOLVERHAMPTON
Best Odds – 33/1 now only 16-1

Analysis – He’s the winner of 4 of his 31 career races including 2 from 6 on the AW. Bothose AW wins came here at Wolverhampton yet his last 3 runs have all been at Newcastle and the other was Lingfield, so he does boast a 100% track record. Those 2 wins came back in Feb/March 2013 in a 6F maiden and a 7F h’cap off 76. His 2 turf wins were off 85 at Musselburgh and 95 at Chester, so todays mark of 71 less 5lb for his good apprentice Clifford Lee makes him look very well treated. He also has first time blinkers on here making his 33-1 quote look very over priced to me.
